While the order doesn't hold narrative significance, following the sequence below may optimize your progress.

Phase 1: Chain Severance (Combat)

  • 1. Team Composition: Ensure your party possesses a character capable of effectively countering Geo shields. Geo characters are particularly well-suited for this role.
  • 2. Locating the Chain: Navigate southward within the Sea of Bygone Eras, following the initial chain's guidance. You'll be led to a cave entrance.
  • 3. Engaging the Foes: Upon entering the cave, confront and defeat the three Geo-armored golems residing within. A brief dialogue sequence will follow their defeat.
  • 4. Chain Disruption: Utilize the designated interaction button to activate symphony mode. Subsequently, hold down the Elemental Skill button while facing the nearby tower. This action will generate a soundwave, severing the chain binding Scylla.
  • 5. Reward Retrieval: If the chain breaks successfully, an Exquisite Chest containing valuable resources will materialize. Interact with it to claim your spoils.

Phase 2: Chain Severance (Diplomacy)

  • 1. Following the Chain: Pursue the second chain northwest within the Sea of Bygone Eras. This path will lead you to a small landmass known as Portus Anticus.
  • 2. Earning Trust: Approach the guards stationed in this area. Engage in conversation to gain their trust, prompting them to depart.
  • 3. Unearthing Treasures: Locate the shimmering point adjacent to the sword lodged in the rock. Interact with this spot to unearth an Exquisite Chest containing valuable rewards.
  • 4. Chain Disruption: Ascend the nearby cliff face and approach the tower. Activate symphony mode using the designated interaction button. Similar to Phase 1, hold down the Elemental Skill button to unleash a soundwave, severing the second chain binding Scylla. A cutscene will confirm the chain's severance.

Phase 3: Chain Severance (Timing)

  • 1. Following the Chain: Travel eastward within the Sea of Bygone Eras, following the final chain's guidance. This path will lead you to Hortus Euergetis.
  • 2. Observing the Octopuses: In this area, you'll encounter Washer Octopuses circling around glowing flowers.
  • 3. Precise Execution: Pay close attention to the Octopuses' movements. When an Octopus' barrier encapsulates all surrounding flowers, promptly activate symphony mode. Hold down the Elemental Skill button to release a soundwave, effectively locking the Octopus in place and severing the final chain binding Scylla.
