They are one of the items that you can find in the game with the arrival of the new expansion and they will allow you to change the appearance of your weapons. With them you will be able to customize your crafted weapon with a particular style of the souvenir you obtained.
How to get Mementos in Destiny 2?
The first activity you'll be working on to unlock a Memento is Gambit, which was modified for The Witch Queen expansion. After completing and unlocking Gambit Memento, you will receive a Gambit-themed appearance, as well as an activity tracker every time you use that weapon on it.
To use Memento on a weapon you will have to position yourself at max level first, during the Enclave. We will probably get to see additional Mementos for the Trials of Osiris and Grandmaster Nightfall activities, at some point in the game.
