To encounter this boss, you must first reach Act 3 of the game and have obtained the Silk Soar ability. This key traversal skill is acquired in the Abyss and is crucial for reaching the boss's secluded arena.The Watcher at the Edge is located in the westernmost part of the Sands of Karak region. Once you've reached the area, you'll need to find an opening that requires the use of your Silk Soar ability to ascend. After navigating this passage, you'll find the boss in a statue-like state at the edge of the map. To initiate the fight, simply play your Needolin to awaken him.

Boss Overview and Attack Patterns

The Watcher at the Edge is a ground-based boss with astraightforward, two-attack moveset. He does not have distinct phases,but he is a relentless opponent who will punish any mistakes.

• Hack and Slash: The boss will perform a series of consecutive melee slashes with hisbony sword. This attack can be blocked, but it's often safer and moreeffective to use your dash ability to move out of the way.
• Jump Attack: He will scrape his sword along the ground before leaping into the airand slashing toward you. He will follow this with another slash uponlanding. This attack deals significant damage, so you must be quick toavoid it.

Patience and precision are key to defeating the Watcher at the Edge. Here aresome strategies to help you overcome this formidable foe:

• Dash and Counter: The safest strategy is to use Hornet's dash to quickly evade hisattacks. Immediately after he finishes an attack combo, take theopportunity to land a few hits of your own.
• Pogo Attacks: Since the boss is a ground-only enemy, you can use a pogo-jump strategy to your advantage. By attacking downward on his head, you can stayairborne and deal damage while remaining safely out of range of hisslashes.
• Strategic Tools: Equip tools that can deal passive damage. The Cogfly is an excellent choice, as it will home in on the boss and continue to deal damage while you focus on dodging.
• Helpful Crests: The Beast Crest is a great option for this battle. It boosts your healing and slashattack damage, which are both crucial for outlasting the boss.
• The Cheese Strategy: A less conventional but highly effective method is to lure the Watcherat the Edge toward the left edge of his arena. By repeatedly attackinghim while he is close to the edge, you can push him into theSandcarver-infested pit below, which deals a high amount of damage andcan end the fight quickly.

Upon defeating the boss, he will turn to stone, and you can collect the Grey Memento from his remains. While this is not a crafting material, it is an itemthat contains a piece of Pharloom's history that you can place in yourhome.
