In the world of Hollow Knight: Silksong, the Crawfather presents a unique and difficult boss encounter that combines a one-on-one fight with a horde of minor enemies. This battle is not just about facing a single powerful foe but about managing the chaos of the entire Court of Craws at once. How to Find the Crawfather

The path to the Crawfather is an optional side quest that requires a significant amount of progress in the game. To begin, you must first obtain a key item called Craw Summons. This item is a late-game quest reward that appears near a Bench after you have completed the journal entries for four specific creatures from the Craw family: Craw, Tallcraw, Squatcraw, and Craw Juror. The Craw Juror is a creature you can only encounter in Act 3 of the game, so you'll need to advance a good way into the story before you can trigger the summons.Once you have the Craw Summons, travel to the rightmost section of Greymoor, to an area called Craw Lake. Here, you'll find a large building with a locked door at the bottom. Use the Craw Summons on this door to open it and enter the Court of Craws, which is the arena for the boss fight.

Crawfather Boss Fight Overview

The fight against the Crawfather is challenging not because of the boss'sraw power, but because of the constant interruptions from his minions. He will often summon various Craws and Jurors to fight alongside him, making it difficult to focus on a single target.

Here are the key attacks of the Crawfather:

• Beak Charge: The Crawfather will hover briefly before diving diagonally downwardwith his beak. This is a very telegraphed attack that can be avoidedwith a simple jump.
• Beak Frenzy: He will rear his head back and smash the ground three times in a row while moving forward. You can use your dash and jump to get behind him and land a few hits.
• Summon: The boss will call for reinforcements from the Court of Craws. You must deal with these minions to prevent them from overwhelming you.
• Spiky Chains: The Crawfather will fly into the air and summon chains that fly outward in every direction. After a brief pause, the chains will become covered in spikes. There are gaps between the chains that you can stand in to avoid getting hit.
• Beak Dive: This move immediately follows the Spiky Chains attack. As the chains disappear, the Crawfather will dive down with his beak, so be ready to dodge after the chains are gone.

Tips and Tricks to Defeat the Crawfather

Success in this fight hinges on managing the battlefield and using the righttools and crests to deal with both the boss and his minions.

• Crowd Control is Key: The most dangerous part of this fight is the sheer number of enemies. The Thread Storm Silk Skill is a fantastic choice here, as it allows Hornet to unleash a whirlwind of silk around herself, damaging multiple enemies at once. Use this skill to clear out the smaller Craws as they are summoned.
• Aggressive Healing: The Beast Crest is a powerful option for this battle. This crest allows Hornet to dealmassive damage, and its passive ability allows you to regain health bylanding hits on enemies. Combine this with the Flea Brew tool to increase your attack speed, and you can quickly recover any health lost from the onslaught of enemies.
• Defense is the Best Offense: If you're struggling to avoid damage, consider using the Plasmium Phial. This tool allows you to gain "Plasmium Masks," which are extra healthmasks that regenerate over time, similar to the Hiveblood charm from the first game. This will give you more breathing room to make mistakeswhile you focus on taking down the Crawfather.
• Find Your Openings: The Crawfather has clear openings after some of his attacks. After hisBeak Charge and Beak Frenzy, he will be vulnerable for a brief moment.Use these opportunities to land a few hits with your needle before hebegins his next attack. You can also get a few hits in with an uppercut after you've dodged the Spiky Chains attack by getting underneath him.
