How to Identify an Infection

Recognizing an infection in SCUM mirrors real-life symptoms. Your character will:

• Develop a fever.
• Exhibit a red patch around the wound, clearly indicating the presence of an infection.

At this stage, if the infection remains untreated, your character's life is at risk. Therefore, prompt action is crucial. The first step in treatment is to identify the type of infection and its location. Once this is determined, you can proceed with the treatment process.

SCUM Infections: How to Treat/Cure Them

Treating an infection in SCUM involves a straightforward, three-step process:

Clean the Wound

• Remove Dirty Bandages: The initial and most critical step is to remove any dirty bandages currently on your wounds. Any contaminated material must be immediately removed from the affected area.
• Clean the Wound: Once the dirty bandages are gone, it's time to thoroughly clean the wound itself. You can use various items for this purpose, including alcohol, clean bandages, and antiseptic rags.

Rest

• Promote Recovery: Once you have completed the cleaning and medication steps, resting is essential. Without adequate rest, the recovery process will be significantlyslower, and there's a high probability that the infection could recur or worsen.
• Monitor Status: To confirm the effectiveness of your treatment, frequently check your character’s health tab. The wound status should transition from "infected" to "stabilizing," indicating that the treatment is working and your character is on the path to recovery.
