The projector has the most impressive features and its use is highly recommended. With its unmatched reach, wide reach, and automated scanning capabilities, it dwarfs all other levels of D.O.T.S. Projectors available in the game. Before knowing How to use the D.O.T.S projector in Phasmophobia, it should be noted that it has interesting options and they are the following:
- D.O.T.S. Laser Pen Spotlight: This Level 1 model is a small pen included by default, with a narrow spotlight that extends up to 5 meters. While it serves its purpose, points have limitations and require precise placement in a specific area.
- Infrared sensor D.O.T.S. Projector: Considered a Level 2 upgrade, this projector becomes accessible at Level 29 and has a narrower range of just 2.5 meters. However, it makes up for this with a wide projection in its designated area, making it perfect for attaching to the ground in high-traffic ghost areas, providing coverage for the entire area.
- Motorized D.O.T.S. Projector: Unlocked at level 60, this is the ultimate version of the level 3 projector, worth the wait. With a huge range of 7 meters and a wide focus, this projector is best used on a surface or support, because it uses its infrared light to scan and record the area automatically and efficiently. We can even place two projectors on opposite sides of a room to capture a full view of the entire area in spots!
How to use the D.O.T.S projector in Phasmophobia?
To effectively use the D.O.T.S. projector in Phasmophobia to track the movement of a ghost and identify evidence, we must first install it correctly on a wall or floor. Similar to the motion sensor, we use the 'F' key to place the projector once we have it in our possession. Then, we will use the scroll wheel to adjust its angle for optimal positioning, the projector emits a cone of green lasers from its oriented site. For the level 1 projector available to everyone, it is recommended to right click to distribute the beams in a cone instead of focusing on a single point.
When determining a possible location for the ghost, we will target the D.O.T.S. projector so that the beams cross paths. This will allow us to see a translucent shape as it passes through the laser grid. To make this easier to see, we will succeed by placing a night vision enabled video camera to capture the points and then reviewing the images on the van's cameras. It should be noted that Goryo's ghost cannot be seen in the D.O.T.S. projector without the use of a night vision enabled camera.
