Depending on the scale of your planned base, you'll need varying amounts, from small quantities to vast reserves.
Here's a quick and easy guide to finding and mining Granite Stone in the game.

Dune Awakening: Where To Find Granite Stone

Granite Stone is one of the most widely available resources in Dune: Awakening, primarily used for constructing the foundational CHOAM Shelter and most of the Facility building sets.

Abundance Across Arrakis: While Granite Stone deposits can be found across the entire map, the South Hagga Basin region boasts the most abundant supply of this resource.
Starting Zone Advantage: Conveniently, South Hagga Basin is precisely where players will begin their journey when starting a new game on a server. This makes early collection of Granite Stone particularly easy.

Locating Deposits:

Survey an Area: To pinpoint Granite deposit locations, you'll first need to survey an area using a probe. This action will mark all resource deposits, including Granite, on your map.

Check Your Map: Once the survey is complete, open your map. Look for the little rock icons near your current location; these indicate Granite Deposits.

Terrain Navigation: Be aware that you might need to climb rocky formations a bit to reach these deposits, especially in the starting area.

How to Mine Granite Stones

Once you've arrived at a Granite Stone deposit, there are two primary methods for acquiring the resource:

Manual Pickup: You can pick up smaller, individual Granite Stones scattered on the ground. Each pickup will yield one stone. This is a basic method for quick, small amounts.

Using a Cutteray (Recommended): The most efficient way to mine larger quantities of Granite Stones is by using a Cutteray.

Improvised Cutteray (Early Game): At the beginning of the game, you can craft an Improvised Cutteray directly from your character's Crafting menu. While it won't yield thehighest amount of Granite Stones per deposit, it's an excellent optionfor getting your first base up and running.
Upgraded Cutterays (Progression): As you progress further in the game and discover more resources andschematics, you'll unlock the ability to build stronger versions of theCutteray, such as the MK1, MK2, MK4, and so on.
Increased Yield & Versatility: Higher-level Cutterays will provide a significantly greater yield from single deposits. Furthermore, advanced Cutterays will also allow you to mine other valuable resources, including iron and aluminum ores, expanding your gathering capabilities.
