The unforgiving deserts of Arrakis in
Dune: Awakening demand a reliable mode of transportation. While the Sandbike and Ornithopter have been staple vehicles for navigating the Hagga Basin and the Deep Desert, the game's first major DLC,
Lost Harvest, introduces a stylish and agile new ground vehicle: the
Treadwheel. This single-person ride offers superior acceleration and turning speeds compared to the Sandbike, making it a thrilling alternative for players who prefer rapid, precise movement. However, the Treadwheel isn't available from the start. To get your hands on its schematics, you must complete the new storyline quests included with the
Lost Harvest DLC. This guide will detail the exact process for unlocking and crafting all variants of the Treadwheel, as well as provide a comprehensive list of the resources required.
How to Unlock and Craft the New Vehicle in Dune: Awakening
Unlocking the Treadwheel Schematics: The Lost Harvest Questline
To unlock the schematics for the
Treadwheel, you must embark on the new storyline introduced in the
Lost Harvest DLC. This questline is part of the larger
Chapter 2 content update, and completing it is the only way to earn the blueprints. The
Lost Harvest missions that you'll need to complete are:
- The Fall of Mithra: This initial quest sets the stage, sending you to investigate the wreckage of a downed spice harvester.
- Villari's Prize: You'll continue to unravel the mysteries of the wreckage and the survivors within.
- Digging Deeper: This mission takes you further into the new content, forcing you to face new enemies and dangers.
- Secrets of the Past: As the final mission in the DLC, "Secrets of the Past" is your key to unlocking the Treadwheel.
Upon successfully completing the "Secrets of the Past" mission, you will be rewarded with the
Treadwheel MK4 schematics. This initial blueprint doesn't just grant you the ability to craft the base vehicle; it also unlocks several essential modules, including the
Treadwheel Scanner MK2,
Treadwheel Inventory MK2, and the
Treadwheel Boost MK4, giving you a highly functional vehicle right out of the gate.
Crafting the Treadwheel: Variants and Resources
Once you have the schematics, crafting the Treadwheel requires a significant investment of resources. There are three variants of the vehicle, eachwith different tiers of components and material requirements. Theinitial MK4 variant is unlocked through the DLC, while the more advanced MK5 and MK6 variants require you to spend Research Intel Points in the Research Menu. The MK5 schematic costs 45 Research Intel Points, and the MK6 schematic costs 60 Research Intel Points.
To craft the MK4 and MK5 variants, you will need a Vehicle Fabricator. For the highest-tier MK6 variant, you'll need an Advanced Vehicle Fabricator.
