Players of Dune: Awakening have recently been experiencing a frustrating "Network error: connection lost generic" message, often accompanied by endless loading screens. This issue became particularly prevalent after the patch update 1.1.10.00, released on July 2, 2025. Many users have reported this problem on platforms like Steam and Reddit.The good news is that the developers, Funcom, have quickly acknowledged this issue on their official Twitter account and have provided temporary workarounds while they work on a permanent fix. The problem is primarily triggered for players who logged out in the northern area of Hagga Basin.Here's what you need to know about fixing the "Network error: connection lost generic" in Dune: Awakening:

Cause of the Issue:The repetitive "Connection Lost Generic" error seems to be triggeredwhen players' characters are last logged out or are attempting to loadinto the northern area of Hagga Basin.

Fix 1 (Community-Discovered Workaround):This method, discovered by a Steam player, aims to trick the game intoloading your character into a more stable, less populated area first.

Attempt to Load into a Different Sietch: If you're stuck on an infinite loading screen for your main character, try to load that character into a different sietch on your current server.

• Go to the server list and select any available sietch that is not the one where you were originally stuck.
• Be persistent; you might see messages indicating your character didn't log out correctly and needs time. Keep trying different sietches until onefinally lets you in.

Relocate and Log Out Normally: Once you successfully load into a different sietch (you'll likely findyourself in the default starting zone, often Hagga Basin South orGriffin's Reach Tradepost), log out of the game normally from there.

Return to Original Sietch and Respawn:

• Log back into your original sietch.
• Once loaded, immediately hit the Escape key to open the menu.
• Select "Respawn." This will cause your character to die and then respawn at a fresh, stable point, hopefully closer to your base.

Important Note: Do NOT pick the exact sietch where you were originally stuck at the verybeginning of this process, as this will likely get you locked out again, forcing you to repeat the entire workaround.

Fix 2 (Official Developer Workaround):Funcom has also provided a similar, more concise workaround via theirofficial Twitter channels. This method is often more reliable as it'sdirectly from the developers.

Log into Another Sietch: From the server select screen, choose to log into another sietch on your current server (again, avoid the problematic northern HaggaBasin spawn point if you know it). Many players report success bylogging into Griffin's Reach tradepost directly.

Log Out and Wait: Once you've successfully loaded into the new sietch (like Griffin's Reach), log out of the game.

Wait 30 Seconds: Crucially, wait for at least 30 seconds after logging out. This allows the server to properly register your character's new, stable location.

Log Back into Original Sietch: After the wait, log back into your original sietch. You should now load in without the "Connection Lost Generic" error,likely at a stable spawn point in the southern part of Hagga Basin ornear Griffin's Reach, even if your base is elsewhere.

Since this workaround is directly from the game developers, it has a highsuccess rate for resolving the issue. Funcom has also stated theyreleased "a small, client-side hotfix addressing connectivity issueswhen connecting in certain regions of Hagga Basin," so ensure your gameclient is updated. If the update doesn't appear automatically, restartyour Steam client.
