Lies of P Overture continues the tradition of meaningful choices, with the lie mechanic remaining central to its narrative. Given the game's inspiration from Pinocchio, the theme of lying and its implications for humanity is unsurprising. In this particular instance, P must decide how to respond to an artist who has lost their vision.If you've played the base game, you're aware that lying significantly impacts P's humanity level, as the narrative consistently emphasizes that only humans are capable of deceit. Many of the lies P can tell in the base game provoke reflection on why humans lie—whether it's to spare feelings, prevent escalation, or for other complex reasons. The situation with Goddard perfectly aligns with this theme.

Should You Lie to Goddard?

The decision to lie to Goddard primarily hinges on whether you are aiming to increase P's humanity level, as this is the only real difference between the two available options.

• If your goal is to increase P's humanity, then the answer is a resounding yes, you should absolutely lie to Goddard the Blind Painter. Doing so will grant a boost to P's humanity level.
• To lie to Goddard, you must select the following option:"Incredible! It is a brilliant work of art."

Lying in this manner is one of the most effective ways to boost P's humanity in Overture, alongside other key choices such as saluting Veronique during Chapter 2.

Consequences of Telling the Truth:If you choose to tell Goddard the truth (i.e., that her work isn't incredible or brilliant), you will not get a second chance to lie. She will become very upset and ask you to leave. Furthermore, if you return later in the game, she will no longer be in her chair, effectively locking you out of any further interactions or potential humanity gains from her.

Where to Find Goddard the Blind Painter in Lies of P Overture

While most players will likely spot Goddard, it is possible to inadvertently miss her if you rush through the early sections of Overture.

You will find Goddard at the very end of Chapter 1, just before you board the tram headed for Eventide Hotel Krat. She is visible sitting in a wheelchair from the Zoo Tram Station Stargazer. Simply look to the left of the entrance to the tram, and you will see Goddard.
