How To Repair Cargo Containers in Death Stranding 2

In Death Stranding 2, successfully delivering cargo hinges on maintaining its pristine condition. Cargo containers are susceptible to damage from various sources, including rough terrain, impacts, enemy encounters, and especially Timefall – the accelerated aging rain that corrodes anything it touches. Damaged containers can drastically lower your delivery ratings, preventing you from achieving that coveted S-rank. Fortunately, there are effective ways to repair your cargo containers and protect their valuable contents.

Death Stranding 2: How To Repair Cargo Containers

There are two primary methods for repairing damaged cargo containers in Death Stranding 2:

Container Repair Spray: This is a vital, though sometimes overlooked, tool. It allows you to manually spray aerosol onto containers to restore their durability.

Timefall Shelters: These structures offer an automated and reliable way to repair containers, providing a safe haven from Timefall while gradually restoring cargo integrity.

It's crucial to remember that Container Repair Spray and Timefall Shelters only restore the durability of the outer container. If the cargo inside the container is already damaged, there is currently no way to repair it in the game. The goal of container repair is to prevent further damage to the contents.

How To Use Container Repair Spray in Death Stranding 2

Cargo containers can suffer damage from Timefall, impacts (from falls or hitting surfaces), and enemy attacks. Visually, damage is indicatedby rust appearing on the container's surface.

Crafting the Spray:

• You can craft a Container Repair Spray at any facility that offers the "Fabricate Equipment" function.
• The crafting cost is typically 20x Chiral Crystals and 10x Resins. It's highly recommended to carry one or two of these sprays, especially when venturing into Timefall-prone areas.

Using the Spray:

Equip the Container Repair Spray from your equipment wheel (accessed by holding the right D-pad button).

Hold R2 to activate the spray.

Aim at the containers you wish to repair.

Switch Aim (Optional): Press the Square button (on PlayStation controllers) to toggle between aiming at containers onyour backpack and those placed on the ground or a vehicle in front ofyou. This allows for versatile spraying.

Continue Spraying: Keep the spray active until all visible rust disappears from thecontainer's surface. The container will then regain its pristine, "goodas new" appearance, indicating it's fully repaired.

Important Considerations for Spray Use:

• Effectiveness: Using the Container Repair Spray during active Timefall can make itless effective. It's generally better to use it when sheltered or in dry conditions if possible.
• Visual Damage: The rust on the containers is your visual cue for damage.
• Protection: Even if the container has no visible rust, the spray can still restore its shock absorption properties.

Repairing with Timefall Shelters

Timefall Shelters are deployable structures that offer passive container repair.

How to Use:

First, you need to unlock and fabricate a PCC (Portable Chiral Constructor). Timefall Shelter blueprints are typically unlocked early in the game (e.g., after completing Order 004).

Deploy a Timefall Shelter using your PCC in a suitable location.

Stand inside the shelter's radius. This area is usually marked by a light blue glow on the ground.

Once inside, a Container Repair Spray effect will automatically activate, continuously repairing any damaged cargo containers you have.

Benefits: In addition to repairing cargo, Timefall Shelters protect you and yourcargo from Timefall rain, deter BTs, and will refill your canteen. Theyare excellent spots to rest and wait out bad weather. Upgrading Timefall Shelters can increase their effectiveness and durability.
