You can get the key item inside the Valley of Despair-a place which is actually a pain to defeat in Yellow Wind Ridge. Defeat the First Prince of the Flowing Sands, one of the fearsome guardians of the area, and you will have to proceed by using the abilities of Wandering Wight Spirit to break through a wall with décor nearby. Cyan Loong is a rather standard boss with limited different attacks. Master his attack patterns, and you'll be through this in no time.
Up close, Cyan Loong will mostly use either a two-hit weapon combo or a strong vertical strike. Hang back behind him, and he will employ a tail attack that's easily dodged either way. When he becomes air-borne, he does a spinning strike, then a slam on the ground. This aerial combo is a really good chance to attack him. Just mind the timing of the second strike; it is not a slam, so there is no need to dodge prematurely.
After successfully evading his aerials, you give him a torrent of hits until he responds with a lightning ball. Be aware of the projectile that gives heavy damage. At 66% health, Cyan Loong electrifies his blade by applying the Shock Bane effect. Give him space during the animation because he plants his sword, creating a shockwave.
At 33% health, Cyan Loong will electrify his blade once more, adding a new three-hit combo that ends in a lightning ball. This phase demands players pay attention and time correctly to avoid taking any damage.
Stay back as far as possible: Pay attention to the movement of Cyan Loong and adjust accordingly.
Dodge at the right time: Time your dodges correctly so that you can successfully avoid his attacks-especially the lightning ball.
Attack open spots in his pattern to take him down. Watch out for Shock Bane: if you get it, heal yourself or switch to defense immediately.
