In this guide entry we explain how to unlock the hidden boss in Black Myth Wukong, let's see. In the Yellow Wind Ridge of Black Myth Wukong, a region known for its perilous cliffs and swirling winds, lies the Fright Cliff area. This treacherous terrain is home to a hidden treasure: six Buddha eyeballs. These mysterious collectibles are concealed within the large stone heads of Buddha statues scattered throughout the cliffside. To obtain these eyeballs, players must carefully explore the Fright Cliff, searching for the distinctive stone heads. Once located, players can interact with the heads to uncover the hidden eyeballs. Collecting all six of these precious items will unlock a secret boss fight with Shigandang, a formidable foe who guards the treasures of the Yellow Wind Ridge. Defeating Shigandang in this challenging encounter will reward players with two powerful items: the Heart of Stone and the Skanda of Feeling. These items are crucial to the player's progression and will grant them significant advantages in their journey.
How to unlock the hidden boss in Black Myth Wukong?
Eyeball #1: Fright Cliff
- Starting point: Valley of Despair Keeper's Shrine
- Directions: After leaving the Shrine, head towards Fright Cliff. You'll notice a wooden bridge leading to a gate. Cross the bridge and pass through the gate. Continue following the path until you come across a distinctive feature: a cluster of glowing eyeballs. Interact with these eyeballs to claim your first Buddha's eyeball.
Eyeball #2: Squall Hideout
- Starting point: Squall Hideout Keeper's Shrine
- Directions: From the Shrine, turn left and follow the path that leads you into a dimly lit ravine. Keep moving forward until you pass a crouching stone statue. At the next turn, take a left. Continue following the path until you reach an altar adorned with a large statue. At the base of this statue, you'll find a Buddha's head. Interact with the head to obtain your second eyeball.
Eyeball #3: Squall Hideout (again)
- Starting point: Squall Hideout Keeper's Shrine
- Directions: This time, instead of turning left, turn right and follow the path. Keep going until you spot some wooden structures and platforms. Climb up these structures, defeating any enemies along the way. Once you reach the top, you'll find the third Buddha's head.
Eyeball #4: Squall Hideout (yet again)
- Starting point: Squall Hideout Keeper's Shrine
- Directions: Again, turn right, but this time, stay on the ground level instead of climbing the wooden structures. Follow the path until you reach a cliff. From the cliff, take a left and continue until you encounter a Rock Guai enemy. Defeat the enemy and keep moving forward. You'll find the fourth Buddha's head positioned on the side of the path.
Eyeball #5: Rockrest Flat
- Starting point: Rockrest Flat Keeper's Shrine
- Directions: From the Shrine, travel straight ahead. As you continue, you'll notice a gate on the left side of the path. Near this gate, you'll find the fifth Buddha's head resting.
Eyeball #6: Rockrest Flat
- Starting point: Rockrest Flat Keeper's Shrine
- Directions: Turn left from the Shrine to enter a cave. Follow the path to your right, which will eventually lead you to a boss encounter with the Mother of Stone. Defeat the boss. After the battle, look for a path on the right side of the boss arena. Follow this path until you reach an elevated platform. At the top of this platform, you'll find the final Buddha's head. Interact with it to claim the sixth and last eyeball.
What to do with the Buddha’s Eyeballs in Black Myth Wukong?
Once you've gathered all six Buddha's Eyeballs, return to Rockrest Flat Keeper's Shrine. Head past the spot where you found the fifth eyeball to reach the Stone Vanguard boss arena. If you've already defeated this boss, you'll find a large boulder there.
Use all six eyeballs to activate the boulder. This will resurrect the Shigandang boss, who is similar to Stone Vanguard in terms of size and strength. However, Shigandang has a slightly different attack pattern, with more focus on ground slams and explosive spikes.
Use Thrust Stance and Cloud Step to dodge attacks and use the Wandering Wight's Spirit for help. The Wandering Wight's Spirit can distract Shigandang and provide you with extra time to recover or deal damage. Be especially careful of Shigandang's ground slam attacks, as they can deal significant damage and knock you down.
Defeating Shigandang will reward you with the Heart of Stone, a valuable item that you can use to craft the Cloud-Patterned Stone Staff. This staff is a powerful weapon that can deal significant damage and has unique abilities.
In addition to the Heart of Stone, you'll also get other valuable items, such as Mind Cores, Silk, XP, Will, and a Skandha of Feeling. Mind Cores can be used to upgrade your skills and abilities, while Silk is a crafting material that can be used to create various items. XP and Will will help you level up your character and increase your stats. The Skandha of Feeling is a rare item that can be used to enhance your character's spiritual abilities.
