This new feature eliminates the cumbersome process of pausing the game and navigating to the main menu to switch between different locations. Now, players can effortlessly teleport between major areas, enhancing the immersion and fluidity of the game.   To assist players in adapting to this significant change, the developers have thoughtfully included a dedicated event mode called Marathon. This mode, along with a corresponding task set and achievement, is designed to provide a gradual introduction to the map-to-map travel mechanic. By engaging in these activities, players can familiarize themselves with the system's intricacies, learn effective strategies, and ultimately master the art of traversing the game world efficiently.  

How to travel from map to map in Escape from Tarkov?

  Initially, you can only travel between maps in the Marathon raid mode. This PvP event serves as an introduction to the new map-hopping mechanic. You can start a Marathon raid by selecting it from the raid selection screen. Once the Marathon event concludes, you'll gain the ability to travel between maps in all raid modes. However, Battlestate Games has yet to announce the event's end date.   When you embark on a Marathon raid, you'll be presented with a task known as Sightseeing. Skier will provide you with MS2000 Markers. To complete the task, you must place one of these markers at each transit location.   The Marathon event commences on the Ground Zero map. Seven minutes after the raid begins, the transit zones will become accessible. Locate the transit location leading to the subsequent area, Streets of Tarkov, and utilize it to travel there. You can then repeat this process to visit other areas.   At present, map traversal is restricted to a specific sequence. For instance, you can transition from Factory to Woods, but not from Factory to Lighthouse. This limitation ensures a structured progression through the interconnected maps.   To achieve the Sightseeing achievement and unlock map-to-map travel in Escape from Tarkov, you must mark nine specific passages using an MS2000 Marker. These passages connect various locations:  

• Ground Zero to Streets of Tarkov
• Streets of Tarkov to Interchange
• Streets of Tarkov to The Lab
• The Lab to Streets of Tarkov
• Interchange to Customs
• Customs to Factory
• Factory to Woods
• Woods to Reserve
• Reserve to Lighthouse
• Lighthouse to Shoreline

Dotted lines on the map indicate the transit directions, making it easy to find these passages. Once you reach a passage, you'll see the option to "Plant" a marker. After successfully planting it, you must defend the objective for 19 seconds to complete it.   While you don't have to mark all nine passages in a single Marathon raid, doing so will earn you the Marathon achievement.

• Plan Your Route: Before entering a raid, carefully review the map and plan your route to efficiently mark the passages. Consider factors such as the locations of other players, the presence of valuable loot, and potential dangers.
• Utilize Scav Runs: Scav runs can be a great way to practice marking passages without risking your valuable gear. As a Scav, you have access to a limited inventory, so focus on completing the objectives rather than gathering loot.
• Team Up with Friends: Playing with friends can significantly increase your chances of success. By coordinating your efforts and providing mutual support, you can more effectively defend objectives and eliminate threats.
• Be Patient: Marking all nine passages can be a time-consuming process. Don't get discouraged if you don't complete it in a single raid. The key is to remain patient and persistent.

 

How to Travel Between Maps in Escape from Tarkov?

Post-Marathon Map Travel

 

After the Marathon event, Escape from Tarkov introduces a new feature that allows players to seamlessly transition between maps during a raid. This eliminates the previous system where players had to wait for specific maps to appear.

 

The Process

 

To travel between maps:

 

• Locate the Transit Zone: This designated area becomes accessible seven minutes into a raid. It's a specific location within the current map.
• Open the Context Menu: Right-click while standing in the transit zone. This will bring up a list of options.
• Select Transition: Choose the option labeled "Transition to Next Map" or something similar. This will initiate the process of moving to the next map.

 

Item Transfer

 

When you successfully transition to a new map, you'll have the opportunity to transfer items you've acquired in the previous location to your stash. This is a convenient way to manage your inventory and ensure you don't carry unnecessary weight. However, there's usually a fee associated with this transfer, so be mindful of the cost.

 

Group Travel

 

If you're playing with a group of friends or other players, everyone in the group must be present in the transit zone to initiate the map transition. However, you don't need to be formally grouped or have specific roles within the group to travel together. As long as you're all in the same transit zone and use it simultaneously, you'll all arrive at the new map at the same time.

 

This means solo players can also join a group for map travel. If you're playing alone and encounter a group in the transit zone, you can ask to join them and benefit from their combined firepower and resources.
