Unlocking the Time Change Ability

The ability to change time in Assassin's Creed Shadows is not available from the start. It is a feature that must be earned by upgrading your Hideout, specifically by building and leveling up the Nando building. This process requires a significant investment of resources, but the strategic benefits it provides are well worth the effort.To get started, follow these steps to construct and upgrade your Nando:

• Head to Your Hideout: Your main base is located in the Izumi Settsu region. Once there, go to the main building, also known as the Hiroma.
• Access Build Mode: Inside the Hiroma, you'll find a blueprint table or a similar interactive point that allows you to access the Hideout's Build Mode.
• Build the Nando: Navigate to the "Themed Rooms" section of the Build Mode menu. The Nando is a unique building that provides a specific perk. Select it and build it using your collected resources.
• Upgrade to Level 2: Once the Nando is built, you must upgrade it to Level 2. This is the crucial step that unlocks the time-changing ability.

At Level 1, the Nando provides a valuable but different benefit: it reduces the cost to replenish your scouts from any of your Kakurejas by 30%. While helpful, it's the Level 2 upgrade that makes all the difference for a stealth-minded player.

Required Resources for Nando Construction and Upgrade

Building and upgrading the Nando is a resource-intensive task. You'll need to gather a variety of materials from looting chests, completingcontracts, and having your scouts smuggle stockpiles from enemylocations.

To build the Nando, you will need:

• Crops: x440
• Wood: x330
• Minerals: x110
• Mons: x1160

To upgrade the Nando to Level 2, you will need:

• Crops: x1840
• Wood: x1360
• Minerals: x460
• Mons: x4700

These resources can be obtained from various sources throughout the game'sworld. Crops, Wood, and Minerals are common building materials found inbundles at enemy bases and castles. You can also send your scouts toretrieve large stockpiles of these materials from marked locations.Mons, the game's currency, is earned by completing missions and sellingloot. Given the high cost of the upgrade, you may need to spend sometime farming resources before you can unlock the time-changing feature.

How the Time Change Feature Works

Once you have successfully upgraded your Nando to Level 2, the ability tochange time is automatically unlocked. Using it is a simple matter of asingle button press.

To change the time of day, simply hold the designated button:

• On PC: Hold the L key on your keyboard.
• On Controller: Hold the Up button on your controller's D-Pad.

This action will cause your character, either Naoe or Yasuke, to enter ameditative posture. During this meditation, time will fast-forward tothe next 6:00 o'clock. This means you can only skip time to either 6:00 AM (dawn) or 6:00 PM (dusk).

While this may seem restrictive, it is an intentional design choice thatmaintains the game's balance and strategic depth. You can't simply skipto the perfect moment for every mission. However, waiting just a fewin-game minutes after 6:00 PM will cause the world to become completelydark, which is the ideal time to play as Naoe and utilize the cover ofnight for stealth missions. The dynamic lighting system and enemypatrols are significantly affected by the time of day, making thisfeature a game-changer for players who prefer to avoid direct combat.

The ability to switch to nighttime at will is a powerful tool for any shinobi. It allows you to:

• Infiltrate Fortresses: Nighttime provides more shadows to hide in, and enemy patrols may change, making it easier to sneak into heavily guarded areas.
• Assassinate Targets: A nighttime approach allows you to surprise targets and execute flawless assassinations without being detected.
• Complete Stealth-Focused Quests: Some quests are designed to be completed at night, and now you can skip the daytime and get straight to the action.

This feature, introduced in the Claws of Awaji DLC, adds another layer of strategic depth to Assassin's Creed Shadows, allowing players to fully embrace the shinobi playstyle and master the art of silent infiltration.
