The
Alien Invasion update in
99 Nights in the Forest has drastically changed the survival dynamics, introducing a thrilling new layer of challenge with crashed UFOs and a formidable alien mothership. This guide will walk you through the steps to infiltrate the mothership, defeat its alien inhabitants, and secure valuable high-tech loot.
99 Nights in the Forest: Raid Alien Mothership
Getting Started: The Alien Arrival
To begin your alien raiding adventure, you first need to survive long enough for the invasion to commence:
- Third Night Onward: On the third night of your survival, or any night thereafter, you'll receive a mysterious alert about "something flying above."
- The Crash: Soon after the alert, you'll hear a loud crash, confirming the aliens have arrived on the forest floor.
- UFO Crash Sites: Open your in-game map. You'll notice new "saucer icons" indicating the locations of crashed UFOs. Head to these sites.
- Initial Engagements: At each crash site, you'll find alien guards. Defeat them and scavenge any loot they or their wrecked ship may have left behind. These smaller crash sites can drop alien scrap and new weapons like the Laser Sword and Raygun.
Spotting the Right Ship (The Operational Mothership Portal)
Not all crashed UFOs are gateways to the mothership. Most are simply wreckage. You need to identify the one that's still operational:
- Glowing Yellow Icon: On your map, the working ship will have a distinct glowing yellow icon, making it stand out from the other crashed saucers.
- Approach with Caution: When you approach this operational UFO, be prepared for a fight, as it will be guarded by at least two alien enemies.
- Explore the Interior: Once the guards are defeated, enter and explore the ship's interior.
- The Arrow: As you navigate inside, keep an eye out for an arrow drawn on the ground. This arrow is your crucial sign that you're nearing the teleporter.
- The Teleporter: Follow the arrow, and you'll discover a teleporter device within the UFO. This is your direct beam to the Alien Mothership.
Preparation is Key: Before stepping into the teleporter, it's vital to prepare for the intense environment of the mothership:
- Healing Items: Stock up on bandages, medkits, and any other healing consumables you possess.
- Serious Firepower: It is highly recommended to have a Raygun. This weapon, often looted from the initial crash sites, is exceptionally powerful within the mothership due to its rapid-fire capabilities and unlimited, rechargeable ammo.
Aboard the Mothership: Navigating the Gauntlet
Once you've teleported aboard the Alien Mothership, you'll find yourself in a high-tech, challenging environment:
- Lockdown: The mothership is on lockdown, with progress blocked by advanced, high-tech doors.
- Elite Alien Enemies: To open these barriers, you'll need to defeat elite alien enemies. These are tougher than the regular aliens you encountered at the crash sites.
- Scanner Mechanism: After defeating an elite alien, you must drag its body over to a nearby scanner located next to the locked door. This gruesome but effective methodwill activate the door, allowing you to proceed. The mothershipfunctions as a combat gauntlet with rewards at the end.
What Can You Loot?
The Alien Mothership, and sometimes even the initial crash sites, offerexclusive and powerful high-tech loot that can significantly aid yoursurvival:
- Laser Sword: A potent melee weapon with a cooldown. It's a significant upgrade over early-game melee options like the Spear, offering higher damage swings that consume energy.
- Raygun: A fast-firing laser weapon that runs on rechargeable energy, meaning it has unlimited "ammo." This is practically essential for surviving theintense fights within the mothership due to its high damage output andsustained fire. It can also damage the elusive deer.
- Laser Cannon: (Often found in crash sites) A slower-firing, high-damage rifle that also uses rechargeable energy. Good for burst damage.
- Laser Fence Blueprint: This valuable blueprint allows you to construct a futuristic defensivefence at your base, providing superior protection against both nativecreatures and cultists.
The Alien Mothership is one of the toughest challenges introduced in the update. If 99 Nights in the Forest supports co-op, consider bringing friends to increase your chances ofsurvival and success. Having the Raygun is almost a necessity for themothership, while the Laser Sword is excellent for close-quarterscombat, especially against cultists back in the forest.
