Once you reach the highest rank in War Within, equipping your character is pretty simple, assuming you're willing to do a little digging around in Azj-Kahet. You also receive the Nerubian Pheromone Secreter, a nice trinket to which you can easily add some very helpful Fragrance items.
Here goes the guide on the usage of Fragrance Sockets, plus some tips on where to get the item in question and where to get the Fragrances inside City of Threads.
You will have to gain at least seven levels of Renown with The Severed Threads in order to unlock the best trinket with Fragrance Sockets within The War Within. You do need to be at least level 1 to do this.
We felt that filling up the bar for these tasks was a little bit of a gamble. While flying around the zone, don't forget to watch for Rares and pick up Rumors and World Quests wherever you can. These will give you the most progression.

Scented Sockets Guide
You will have to gain at least seven levels of Renown with The Severed Threads in order to unlock the best trinket with Fragrance Sockets within The War Within. You do need to be at least level 1 to do this.
- This Renown grind, like all of the others in the expansion, goes extremely quickly because of the pact system. You are able to gain your Renown level concurrently every time you complete an agreement with a faction leader. Make sure to pay close attention to these weekly missions in order to do so, working with the General as Blade, the Vizier as Hand, and the Weaver as Eyes.
- Killing the rares in Azj-Kahet, completing World Quests, completing rumor tasks and the quest lines for the zones will all contribute to filling these progress bars that each of these quests start you out with. You can only choose one, so know your benefits to each contract before making your choice.

How to use Fragrance Sockets in WoW The War Within
To open your character screen, equip an item that has Fragrance Sockets on it - like the Nerubian Pheromone Secreter. To open the Fragrance Socket, with a fragrant-equipped item equipped, press Shift and right-click on the item. As seen in the image above, it will appear alongside your character.
Then, in order to have the right Fragrances go inside those sockets, drag and drop them in. This way, once inside, they will trigger the trinket upon usage. More pheromones will be triggered when greater reputation levels with your pacts are gained, as explained in the trinket description.
In the City of Threads will get you Fragrances. Three out of the four merchants are relatively close to each other. If you are after Tej the Undying, Rej the Dying, or Venom Dahn, head there.
You can have Rej and Tej at your stall. Enigmatic Fragrance- Which can be purchased from Rej the Dying or any other merchant. Wearing it and triggering during combat will increase your Mastery rating.
Reviving Fragrance can be purchased from Tej the Undying by those players who want to enhance their Haste instead of their Mastery. The amount that has to be paid for each fragrance is 150 Kej.
Alongside Rej and Tej is Venom Dahn, who peddles Assassination Supplements and Flavor Enhancements.
This trader has the Volatile Fragrance that gives a boost to your Critical Strike stat.
Needed for "Eight Shaker" Sallow is the final merchant for fragrances; he can be found inside of the building in the area highlighted in the map below.
Be prepared, for there are a lot of guards patrolling the area, or standing guard over various structures.
Sallow sells the Robust Fragrance, which impacts your Versatility stat.
Your class dictates which Fragrances you use in combination in your trinket, so you're best off deciding that prior to buying them all. Kej is a precious metal and some of the rarest things you can buy with it are expensive.
