Efficiently Producing Caviar in Stardew Valley

Caviar, a valuable artisan good, can be a lucrative addition to your Stardew Valley farm. Here's a streamlined approach to incorporating it into your production cycle:

  • 1. Acquire a Fish Pond: The cornerstone of caviar production is the Fish Pond. Purchase one from Robin at the Carpenter's Shop for 5,000g. Construction materials include 200 Stone, 5 Seaweed, and 5 Green Algae.
  • 2. Stock the Pond with Sturgeon: Catch Sturgeon during Spring or Winter at the Mountain Lake (6 AM - 7 PM). Alternatively, purchase them from Krobus' shop or the Traveling Cart (600g - 1,000g).
  • 3. Harvest Sturgeon Roe: Unlike regular Roe produced by other fish, Sturgeon Roe is a distinct black color. Regularly harvest this valuable resource from your Fish Pond.
  • 4. Craft Preserves Jars: To transform Sturgeon Roe into Caviar, you'll need Preserves Jars. Craft them using readily available materials: 50 Wood, 40 Stone, and 8 Coal.
  • 5. Process Sturgeon Roe into Caviar: Place Sturgeon Roe in a Preserves Jar. The conversion process takes approximately 4 in-game days.

Additional Considerations:

Fish Pond Maintenance: While Fish Ponds are relatively low-maintenance, fulfilling occasional requests from your Sturgeon can increase their population, boosting caviar production.

Alternative Acquisition: While less reliable, Caviar can be purchased, at a premium, from the Traveling Cart.

This is everything you need to know about How to Make Caviar in Stardew Valley, following this guide it will surely be easier for you to obtain this valuable resource and thus grow your farm economically. All this while enjoying the experiences that Stardew Valley has to offer you.
