Prerequisites: Unlocking the Path to Wisp Thicket

You cannot enter the Wisp Thicket in the early game. The primary barrier is a high vertical chasm that requires enhanced mobility to cross.

• Essential Ability: The Double Jump (or its Silksong equivalent) is absolutely mandatory. This powerful upgrade is found atop the perilous Mount Fay.
• The Ascent of Mount Fay: The climb is a challenging platforming segment where biting cold winds will steadily drain Hornet's health if she lingers too long. Utilize benches strategically placed on the mountainside to reset your position and avoid lengthy runbacks.
• Preparation: Before your attempt, ensure you have enough Rosaries to purchase the local map from the cartographer Shakra and to activate the first bench, securing your progress.

Step-by-Step: How to Reach the Wisp Thicket

Once you have the Double Jump ability, follow these steps:

Travel to Greymoor: Use the Bellway Station fast travel system to arrive in the Greymoor region.

Navigate the Twin Towers: From the station, head left towards a large tower structure. Scale this tower to its peak and exit through the passage on the right. This leads to a second tower. Climb this one as well, but this time, exit via the left-side passage.

The Fan Crossing: You will now be in an open area with dangerous spikes below and aerial enemies. Your path forward relies on activating a series of wind fans to propel yourself across gaps.

The Final Leap: After navigating the fans, you will find a section leading upward. This is where your new Double Jump ability is essential. Use it to ascend past the final obstacles. Carefully pogo off a hanging spore ball to avoid spikes and land on the platform to the right, where you'll find a welcome bench and the entrance to the Wisp Thicket itself.

Boss Fight: Defeating the Father of the Flame

Deep within the Thicket, you will encounter the area's guardian, the Fatherof the Flame. This is a unique battle that requires a specific strategy.

Location: From the Wisp Thicket bench, head left, pogoing off spores to traverseupward. Continue past flame-shooting enemies and climbing sections until you find two spores to bounce from, leading left into the boss arena.

The Gimmick: Hornet's needle attacks are useless against the boss's main body. Your true targets are the four flame braziers hanging around the arena.

Phase 1 Strategy:

• Destroy the Braziers: Use aerial down slashes (pogo attacks) to break the braziers. Each can take several hits.
• Avoid the Orbs: The boss summons homing fire orbs that deal significant damage. Equipping the Magma Bell tool is highly recommended, as it reduces incoming fire damage.
• Increasing Difficulty: As you destroy more braziers, the boss will summon two orbs in quicker succession, narrowing your windows for attack.

Phase 2 Strategy:

• Once all braziers are destroyed, a caged fire in the center is exposed. This is the boss's core.
