Why You Need the Curveclaw

Before we dive into the location, it’s important to understand why the Curveclaw is so valuable. This tool is far more than a simple weapon. It allows Hornet to launch a projectile in a wide arc, making it exceptionally effective for:

• Combat Against Flying Enemies: Easily dispatch hard-to-reach foes that normal attacks can't touch.
• Hitting Distanced Switches: Trigger environmental mechanisms from a safe distance.
• Supplementing Your Playstyle: Create powerful attack combinations by weaving the Curveclaw between your standard combos.

Method 1: Purchasing from the Secret Vendor in Hunter's March

The primary method for acquiring the Curveclaw is by finding a hidden merchant early in your adventure.
Prerequisite: The Drifter's Cloak
Your first task is to obtain the Drifter's Cloak ability. This is essential for reaching the vendor. To get it, complete the "Flexile Spines" questline located in the Far Fields area. This cloak grants Hornet the ability to ride air currents, unlocking new vertical exploration options.

Finding the Mottled Skarr Vendor

Travel to Hunter's March: This area, teeming with ant-like Skarr enemies, is situated between Bone Marrow and Far Fields.

Locate the Cave Entrance: Use your newfound Drifter's Cloak to ascend on air currents to thehighest reaches of the zone. Look for a specific cave entrance.

Discover the Secret Path: Inside the cave, you'll see ropes with protruding Shards. Hug the leftwall and perform a series of precise jumps to reveal a hiddenpassageway. Navigate this short platforming section to discover thesecret vendor, a character known as the Mottled Skarr.

Make the Purchase: The Mottled Skarr sells various rare items. Browse their stock and purchase the Curveclaw for 140 Rosary Beads.

Once purchased, rest at any Bench to equip it and add this powerful tool to your arsenal.

Method 2: Retrieving the Curveclaw After Act Two (Vendor is Gone)

If you have progressed into the later stages of the game, specificallyafter moving from the Underworks into the Coral Chambers during Act Two, you will find that the Mottled Skarr has met an unfortunate end. Do not worry—the Curveclaw is not lost forever.

Prerequisite: The Cling Grip Ability

This method requires the wall jump ability, known as the Cling Grip, which you will have acquired by this point in the story.

The Alternate Route:

Return to the Vendor's Cave: Journey back to the original cave in Hunter's March where you first met the Mottled Skarr.

Ascend the Exterior: Exit the cave and use your Cling Grip ability on the wall surfacedirectly above the entrance. Climb up to a floating platform overhead.

Enter the Left Cave: From this new vantage point, enter the cavern to your left. Beprepared; you will be ambushed by a group of Skarr warriors as soon asyou enter.

Claim Your Prize: Defeat all the enemies in the area. This will cause a previously locked section to open. Inside, you will find the Curveclaw waiting to becollected, strapped to a rope on the left side of the cave.
