The "Aeronautics Badge" offers a unique and exhilarating way to defy gravity, turning the struggle of climbing into the thrill of flight. This badge is not just a collectible; it's a testament to your ingenuity, requiring you to master the art of airborne travel using a surprising item: balloons. This guide will walk you through every step of this creative challenge, from finding the necessary balloons to safely navigating the skies and earning your wings.

How to Achieve Flight and Earn the Aeronautics Badge

The objective for the Aeronautics Badge is simple in concept: achieve sustained flight. However, the execution requires preparation and a bit of luck. The game will only register your flight if you are lifted into the air by a specific number of balloons, making this a true in-game quest rather than a simple button press.

Step 1: Gathering Your Balloons

Balloons are a rare and valuable resource, and you won't find them lying out in the open. Your primary method for finding them is by searching through luggage boxes scattered throughout the map. To earn the badge, you need to have a minimum of six balloons in your inventory.Pro-Tip: Balloons have a limited lifespan and will pop after a short time. To ensure a successful flight and avoid a sudden, dangerous descent, it's highly recommended to carry more than the required six. A couple of extra balloons can be the difference between a controlled glide and a devastating crash landing.

Step 2: Taking Off

Once you have gathered at least six balloons in your inventory, theprocess of taking off is straightforward. Simply equip all six at thesame time and press the jump button (space). This will triggerthe flight animation, and you will begin to float upwards, soaring overobstacles and gaining a new perspective on the map. The moment youachieve this sustained flight, the game will count it toward your badgeprogression.

Step 3: Avoid Flight-Related Mods

For this reason, the game will not count anyprogress toward the badge if you are using flight-related mods. Thebadge is a reward for earning your flight the intended way—with sixballoons and no shortcuts.

Balloons are a temporary luxury. After about a minute of flight, they will begin to pop, and your character will drop back to the ground. This makesthem a fantastic tool for quickly traversing short distances or skipping over difficult sections of a climb.
