How to Find the Mesa Level

The Mesa biome appears as the third level in PEAK. For a limited time, starting on August 11, 2025, the Mesa is guaranteed to follow the Tropics. After this initial launch week, the third level will begin to rotate randomly between the Mesa and the Alpine biome, ensuring a diverse and unpredictable climbing experience.

Strategies for Beating the Mesa

The Mesa is a multi-sectioned desert level, beginning with relatively flat terrain before transitioning into a cavern system and a finalmountain climb. Here’s how to handle its unique challenges:

1. Managing the Heat:The most significant threat in the Mesa is the constant, damaging heatfrom the sun. Unlike the Alpine biome's snowstorms, the sun willcontinuously burn you, draining your health.

• Seek Shade: Your primary defense is to stick to shaded areas provided by rock formations and overhangs.
• Essential Items: Sunscreen, parasols, and aloe vera are crucial for surviving in the open sun. A parasol, in particular, offers constant protection.
• Beware of Dust Devils: These swirling winds can unexpectedly grab you and launch you into anexposed area, where you'll immediately begin taking sun damage.

2. Navigating the Environment:The Mesa is full of natural hazards that can hinder your progress.

• Cacti: These plants spawn "prickleberries" that, while restoring hunger,inflict a status ailment that reduces your total stamina. Similarly,running into a cactus will cause you to get stuck and suffer the sameeffect. To recover your stamina, you must pull the thorns out of yourbody.
• Caves: The cavern system serves as a safe havenfrom the sun and is a great opportunity to find supplies. Take advantage of this section to gather items and prepare for the final climb.

3. Dealing with Enemies and Hazards:The Mesa is teeming with new enemies and dangers.

• Scorpions: These creatures will actively pull you around the map, disrupting your movement.
• Antlions: These disguised predators hide in suspicious-looking sand pits. Theywill drag you into a vortex of sand, dealing significant damage. It isoften safest to avoid these encounters.
• Pickaxes: Thesetemporary pitons are useful for climbing but come with a risk. They canrandomly break away from the mountain's surface, causing you to fall.
• Dynamite: Dynamite sticks are scattered throughout the level. Their proximityactivation can be unpredictable, so if you hear a distinct sizzle, runaway immediately to avoid the explosion.

4. General Climbing Strategy:While the Mesa has its own unique threats, the core gameplay remains the same. The key is to be cautious and prepared.
