Simply fly your spaceship towards a planet. Look for words such as "arid", "incandescent", "boiling", and "scorched" that describe a dry, hot world. Solanium is also included as one of the resources present.
When you're on the planet, use the Analysis Visor to track down the Solar Vine plant. These plants are more like huge boulders with their bodies entwined by emerald-colored tendrils. You can't miss them, and the Haz-Mat Gauntlet will allow you to collect them in one spot with ease. If you have the time, take a while to extract the phosphorus deposits on the planet. These can be used to craft more solanium when you are away from hot planets.
The No-MS Solanium Farming Guide
Once you have completed the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission you will be able to grow Solar Vines at your base. In a hydroponic tray or bio-dome you have constructed plant solar vines using 50 ppm of sulphur and 50 ppm of sodium. You can plant Solar Vines directly into the ground on high temperature planets.
It grows in about 16 real-life hours, so just plant the Solar Vine and come back the next day to harvest it.
How to Craft Solanium
Most of the Refiner preparations for Solanium require Phosphorus from hot planets. You can also get Phosphorus through traders and Galactic Trade Terminals. Here are all of the No Man's Sky Solanium crafting recipes:
- Potassium with Solanium to make more Solanium
- Sulfur and Air
- Phosphorus and sulfur reaction with dihydrogen and sulfur
The sad fact is that you will have to visit a very hot planet to complete any of these recipes even the ones requiring sulphurine. The most foolproof way to ensure a constant supply of Sulfurine is to stock up on Phosphorus and build an agricultural facility at your base.
