There's a haunted NPC roaming the corridors of the newest map in Marvel Rivals, ready to tell exclusive messages if anyone finds him. Learn how to locate and talk to Bats the Ghost Dog in Marvel Rivals and gain a secret achievement while doing so.
Bats the Ghost Dog is waiting for you in the entrance of the Sanctum Sanctorum map. Sure, the map itself is huge, but this good boy always seems to hang out in the same room. He's literally just at the front door of the place, in the same room that has a large oil painting of Doctor Strange and his dog hanging up.
The ghostly dog passes through this room, never leaving, so it's easy to find him once you know where to look. Sometimes he stops and rests for a while, but most of the time he is flying through the air.
When you approach Bats the Ghost Dog, there is no interact option on him. Some of you won't even be able to interact with him at all, it would seem. The way you can have any conversation with the talkative canine involves a special method because this particular dog seems to open up to only certain kinds of individuals. You'll actually need to spawn into a character he will talk to in order to complete this challenge.
How to unlock the A Hounding Conversation achievement in Marvel Rivals To get the A Hounding Conversation achievement, play as Squirrel Girl, Spider-Man, Thor, or Jeff the Land Shark on the Sanctum Sanctorum map and have a conversation with Bats the Ghost Dog. This map is exclusive to the Doom Match game mode.
In this world, your journey involves interacting with characters and objects on the maps to complete achievements like Shero of Wakanda and Mind Palace. Here, however, it's all very different; you have to just wait around patiently for Bats the Ghost Dog to decide to talk to you. Walk up to him, and if you're one of the valid characters, he'll immediately launch into conversation. After plenty of testing with those four characters, he promptly started talking to each of them the moment I came near, for instance.
With the possibility of getting distracted during the match, having subtitles on makes it way easier to catch what Bats the Ghost Dog says to you. You can turn them on or off at any time from the audio settings page.
Curiously, when Doctor Strange goes near Bats the Ghost Dog, he does not say a word-as if he's supposed to do so. I have played several matches as Doctor Strange on this map, but each time the charming hound overlooked me.
The selection process of the characters in which Bats the Ghost Dog can talk to is unknown. While there are other characters that Bats is open to speaking with, none of our extensive testing has uncovered any other options that work well. If we find any other recruits he's open to speaking with, we'll add them here. For now, please choose one of the four available to do this task. Even if you don't feel like playing as them for the whole round, you can just play as them to get the achievement and then quickly move on to another unit.

Who is Bats the Ghost Dog in Marvel Rivals?
This is a great opportunity to get to know Bats. Bats was Doctor Strange's adopted basset hound, who lived with him in the Sanctum Sanctorum.
Of course, Doctor Strange wouldn't have a regular pet, so he had put an enchantment on Bats that allowed him to talk. The magic spell outlived the poor hound and resulted in a ghost dog that continues speaking from beyond the grave.
