Discover How to Get Fuel in Manor Lords with this excellent and detailed explanatory guide.
Starting out in Manor Lords, fuel and food are king when it comes to providing for your household and business. Fuel gathering seems daunting, especially with the increase in needs, but in practice, it's rather easy once you have a couple of essential buildings, stored resources wisely for winter, and welcomed new families. In Manor Lords, this is how you get fuel and stock up at all times.
Fuel in Manor Lords is used to keep your people comfortable during all seasons and to power several different businesses in your town and hamlet. There are a number of forms it comes in:
Players must construct a Woodcutter's Lodge to gather Firewood, housing up to three families of workers. Workers assigned to the Woodcutter's Lodge will cut down nearby trees, then process the logs into firewood; building a Woodcutter's Lodge requires 1 Timber.
Although the general storage of the Woodcutter's Lodge is able to hold a total of 50 items, it would be wiser to transfer the stock to a Storehouse—and even better, to a Large Storehouse capable of holding up to 2500. By placing the storehouse close to the Woodcutter's Lodge, it will enable one to gather and store rapidly.
Among all the fuel resources, coal is the second most efficient resource. You cannot get coal by gathering, and you need to research the "Charcoal Burning" development to build the Charcoal Kilns.
Once the Charcoal Kiln is unlocked, workers will be able to refine 1 Firewood into 2 Charcoal using 2 Timbers. For convenience, it is highly desirable that the Kilns be built as close to the Woodcutter's Lodge as possible. This way, they will be able to save a lot of time and energy while moving firewood to the Kilns.
After refining coal from firewood, the worker can transfer it to the storehouse or the large storehouse.
More specifically, keeping the Woodcutter's Lodge, Charcoal Kiln, and Storehouse close to each other will be your best bet for fuel in decent, reliable amounts. This reduces the time it would take to move items around from building to building, which keeps your inventory fresh and gets it out to your customers faster.
At least in the beginning of your game, you can get along great just assigning one family to each facility. However, since trees are few and far between, you can build a Forester's Hut to keep people occupied planting trees that will eventually fill out a decimated forest and provide you with a constant wood supply. The trees take some time to grow, so it is better to start the process and then leave it for a while.
Just click on the fire icon, and it will display your fuel consumption at that very moment. It will give a comprehensive list of all woods and coal stored in different structures presently. Click on the Barrel icon on the left to display the approximate months your food and fuel at hand will last.
Another thing to keep in mind here is that these two sources are, in fact, only one fuel source. So, by using 50 firewood and 50 coal, a total of 100 fuel could be made available. In summer, every Burgage Plot consumes 1 fuel per month, while in winter, each Burgage Plot consumes 2 fuel per month.
We hope that the information detailed here about How to Get Fuel in Manor Lords has been very useful for your fun and progress in this busy game.
