In this type of multiplayer video games, where user traffic is huge and the requirements are demanding, it is normal for many players to have to ask themselves how to fix the lag, it is unfortunate but it is normal, so it is not surprising that these things happen in Fortnite.

How to fix the lag in Fortnite.

The first thing you have to make sure is that your computer meets the minimum minimum requirements if you are a PC user to be able to run this game, so we list them below for you:

Windows 7 or Mac OSX Sierra operating system at a minimum.

  • Core i3 2.4 GHz processor.
  • 4 GB of RAM.
  • Intel HD 4000 graphics.

In case your PC exceeds the requirements, the graphics settings have been changed too much, so we recommend lowering them little by little to see if it improves. Another quick solution is to check the speed of your Internet connection to see if there is a high PING result, for this we recommend using Speedtest.net.

In case there is an unstable download speed problem or if the Ping is too high, we recommend contacting your ISP to try to fix it.

Although as we have mentioned many times before, we recommend connecting your PC to the internet by cable and not wifi, in addition to using VPNs.

In case none of the aforementioned works the reason could be a Firewall problem, so the game could be blocked, so make sure to check this. In case it is blocked you will have to open the ports used by the game which are 80, 443 and 5222.
