Decoding the Mystery: What are Found Quests?
Found Quests are distinct from your standard mission log entries. They are secret, one-off assignments that can only be unlocked through specific interactions with non-player characters (NPCs) scattered across the map.
Here is what makes them unique:
- NPC Dialogue Requirement: You must engage in conversation with a particular NPC. Crucially, not every character on the island offers a Found Quest; most simply offer standard vendor services or basic dialogue.
- Unique Iconography: When you interact with a character who does possess a Found Quest, the mission option is clearly marked with a diamond exclamation point icon during the dialogue selection process. If you don't see this specific symbol, the character has no secret quest to offer.
- Hidden Mechanics: They introduce small, narrative-driven tasks that involve hunting down specific items, finding hidden locations, or interacting with other elements of the map, adding a layer of hidden lore to your typical match.
The Current Assignment: Where to Find the Fortnitemares Found Quests
During the Fortnitemares event, the number of available Found Quests is limited, making it easier to pinpoint your targets. Only a select group of NPCs are currently offering these secret missions. For the duration of the event, the focus is on a group of famous mystery solvers:

| Daphne | Inside a building at the Viney Shafts landmark. | Requires you to locate her missing luggage on a nearby cliff (southwest of her location) and then interrogate the thief (Mothman) who stole it. |
| Fred | Standing outside, along the road next to the Mystery Machine (east of Ranger's Ruin). | Tasks you with finding five missing pieces of the Mystery Machine scattered along the road leading down toward Ranger's Ruin to help with repairs. |
| Velma | Located inside a cabin situated in the snowy mountains south of Harmony Hills. | The mission involves finding her missing magnifying glass. It is hidden on the second floor of the very same cabin, tucked away in a corner behind stacked boxes covered with white sheets. |
| Shaggy | Wandering around a gas station to the west of Bugswatter Beach. | Requires you to grab three specific ingredients from around the gas station premises to concoct his request for the 'perfect' burger. |
It is essential to remember that even though the island may contain over 20 unique NPCs, currently, only these four characters possess the special dialogue option that triggers a Found Quest.
Your Weekly Goal: Completing the Found Quests Mission
To successfully complete the Weekly Quest that challenges you to finish Found Quests, you must:
The Total Requirement: You must find, accept, and successfully navigate through two separate Found Quests to satisfy the weekly requirement.
Critical Progression Note
If you are a highly active player and have already completed all four of the available Fortnitemares Found Quests before the Weekly Quest went live, you must still interact with one of the Scooby-Doo characters again and complete their mission a second time. Prior progress does not count toward the current weekly requirement.
The Fastest Path to XP
For players focused solely on rapid XP gain, speed is key. The missions offered by Velma and Shaggy are generally considered the easiest and fastest to complete, as their objectives involve finding items very close to their starting locations. Focusing on these two characters will help you knock out this tricky weekly mission as quickly as possible.
Once you’ve successfully solved two of these small mysteries, the Weekly Quest will be complete, and you'll be significantly rewarded with XP. If you're looking for your next challenge, consider tackling other Fortnitemares objectives, such as carving pumpkins or visiting the strange mountain location to continue earning those event rewards.
