How to Restore Power in Dying Light The Beast

In Dying Light: The Beast, after you successfully restore the power plant, you'll be given the quest "The Cable Guy." This mission requires you to head to an electrical substation and restore power to the surrounding area. While the objective seems straightforward, finding the right cable and connecting it can be a bit confusing.This guide will walk you through each step of the quest, ensuring you know exactly what to do to get the power back on.

Dying Light: The Beast "The Cable Guy" Quest Guide

Step 1: Clear the Substation of Infected

Your first task is to make your way to the electrical substation, which is clearly marked on your map. Upon arrival, you'll find that the area is swarming with a variety of infected, including:

• Spitters: Zombies in red suits that spit corrosive projectiles. Take these out first to avoid their irritating ranged attacks.
• Standard Biters: The common, mobile zombies. Use your preferred melee weapon to take them out as they approach.
• Big Bruiser: A large, hammer-wielding infected. A few well-placed Molotov cocktails are an excellent way to deal with this enemy from a safe distance, as they can quickly drain its health without you having to risk a close-quarters fight.

Once the area is clear, you can focus on the mission objective without interruption.

Step 2: Loot the Substation Building

With the enemies out of the way, your next step is to get inside the small substation building in the center of the area.

• Open the Hatch: Go to the roof of the substation building and pick the lock on thehatch. It's an easy lock, so it shouldn't be too challenging, but makesure you have a few lockpicks on hand.
• Loot Inside: Drop into the building. Inside, you'll find the crafting plan for the 'Flame' common tip mod, along with a reinforced camp axe and other valuables in a container.

Step 3: Find and Connect the Power Cable

This is the most crucial part of the quest and the one that can cause themost confusion. You won't find the cable inside the building.

• Locate the Electrical Pylon: Exit the substation through the hatch and look toward the southeast corner of the area. You will see a large electrical pylon with a small metal platform at the top.
• Reach the Pylon: To get to the pylon, use your parkour skills. First, jump onto thelarge, generator-like machine, then jump onto the street lamp. From thetop of the lamp post, you can jump over to the metal platform on theelectrical pylon.
• Grab the Cable: At the top of the pylon, you will find a power cable that is ready to be connected.
• Connect the Cable: Once you have the cable, jump back to the roof of the substationbuilding, drop back inside through the hatch, and interact with themachine on the north wall. This machine is directly below the hatch andis impossible to miss.

Connecting the cable to the machine will restore power to the area, successfully completing the "The Cable Guy" quest in Dying Light: The Beast.
