In the expansive and dangerous world of
Dying Light: The Beast, survival hinges on your ability to scavenge for crucial resources. While parkour and melee combat are the bread and butter of the game, vehicles still play an important role, and they need
fuel to run. This guide will walk you through where to find this essential resource and how to best use it to your advantage.
Dying Light The Beast: Get More Fuel
Where to Find Fuel
Fuel is a scarce resource, but there are two main ways to acquire it in
Dying Light: The Beast.
- Looting from Abandoned Cars: The most common and reliable method is to siphon fuel from the countless abandoned cars scattered throughout the world. Simply approach a car, find its fuel valve on the back left side, and interact with it. There's a chance you'll get a unit of fuel, though it's not guaranteed every time. This is a low-risk way to gather fuel, and you can also loot a car's trunk for other small goodies.
- Looting Fuel Containers: You can also find fuel in canisters and other containers located in specific areas. A great place to reliably find fuel is at the Taurus Gas Station in the Industrial Zone. This location has several fuel canisters lying around, and you can often find even more by exploring the nearby Dark Zone. Other gas stations and military convoys are also good places to check for fuel.
What Fuel Is Used For
Fuel has two primary uses in the game, both of which are crucial for survival and combat.
- Vehicle Fuel: The most obvious use for fuel is to power the various cars and trucksyou find and drive. To refuel a vehicle, simply interact with the fuelvalve on the back of the vehicle. Each unit of fuel will fill a portionof your vehicle's fuel gauge, with a full tank costing a few units. Ifyou plan on doing a lot of driving, consider unlocking the Efficient Driving skill in the Survival skill tree, which makes your vehicle burn less fuel.
- Flamethrower Ammo: A more hidden use for fuel is for crafting Flamethrower Fuel, which is a powerful asset against some of the game's more formidableinfected, including Chimeras and large hordes. To craft FlamethrowerFuel, you will need 3 units of fuel along with some resin. To get a full magazine for the Flamethrower, you will need a total of 9 units offuel. This can be costly, but the power of the Flamethrower makes itworth the investment for tough boss fights and clearing out heavilyinfested areas.
