Solaris is the lifeblood of Dune: Awakening, serving as the primary currency for everything from purchasing essential recipes and trading with other players to, critically, paying weekly base taxes. Failure to pay these taxes will result in your base being destroyed by the Sardaukar. Therefore, accumulating a healthy quantity of Solaris is paramount for sustained success on Arrakis.
This guide provides a comprehensive breakdown of the most efficient ways to earn large amounts of Solaris quickly in Dune: Awakening.
Dune Awakening: How To Make Solaris (Money)
There are currently three main methods to acquire Solaris rapidly, presented in increasing order of efficiency as you progress through the game. While the first method can be done without aerial transport, the latter two highly recommend the use of an Ornithopter for maximum optimization.
Important Tip: Do not hoard large quantities of Solaris in your base. Regularly visit one of the social hubs (Arrakeen or Harko Village) to deposit Solaris in the bank to safeguard it from Sandworm incidents or base destruction.
1. Fast Quest Method (Early to Mid-Game)
The Quest farming Method involves diligently following the Main Questline and completing all available secondary quests. This not only yields substantial Solaris but also provides crucial gear for progression.
- Main & Side Quests: In addition to the Main Quests (marked in purple), numerous side missions are spread across the map. As you explore, level up, and acquire Solaris, these side quests offer a consistent extra income source.
- Hagga Basin South: Begin your journey at Griffin's Trading Post and pick up all quests in the Hagga Basin South area. Completing all missions in this starting zone while thoroughly looting chests can yield at least 100,000 Solaris before you even leave your first established base.
- Vermillius Gap: From Hagga Basin, your next destination should be the Anvil Trading Post in the Vermillius Gap area. Establish a base near this trading post and undertake the quests available there. Don't overlook Derek Chinara's Planetologist questline, as it yields significant Solaris (at least 70,000 for the initial series of quests).
- Hagga Rift (The Real Money): When you reach the Hagga Rift area, that's where Solaris earnings become truly substantial. Following the CHOAM Mining Station route from Hagga Rift North (near the Harkonnen Base) to the South (Pinnacle Trading Post) is exceptionally lucrative. This route offers tons of chests containing Solaris and at least three dozen quests to complete.
- Progression: By this point, you will likely have unlocked your own Ornithopter or at least a Tier 3/4 Sandbike, significantly speeding up travel and quest completion.
2. Optimized Solaris Farming (Mid-Game to Late-Game)
This method leverages two key mechanics: quests providing Solaris upon completion and chests in Points of
Interest (POIs) regularly respawning.
- Chest Respawn Timers:
- Regular POI chests: Respawn every 20-30 minutes.
- Schematic Chests (found in special spots or the final room of certain POIs): Respawn every 45 minutes.
- Farming Route (Ornithopter Highly Recommended): Utilize an Ornithopter to quickly traverse the following POI route for maximum Solaris gain:
- Start at Pinnacle Station (Eastern Rock Wall).
- From Pinnacle Station, go to Southern Comms.
- From Southern Comms, proceed to the Wreck of the Limos. (Be extremely cautious here, as this is a PvP zone. Move in fast and exit even faster).
- From the Wreck, continue heading east to Western Comms.
- From Western Comms, head southeast to Mysa Tarill.
- Proceed to House of Fiqh and immediately after to Imperial Testing Station Nº 163.
- Then, head back to Pinnacle Station to restart the route.
- Benefits: Most of these POIs are filled with chests that contain Solaris and other
high-demand resources. Surplus materials can be sold for up to 20% more
at NPC traders in social hubs like Pinnacle Station. Additionally, the
Special Schematic Chests at each location drop a substantial 2,000 to 4,000 Solaris each.
- Interactive Map Reference: Players can utilize fully interactive online maps of Arrakis (such as
those found on fan wikis or community sites) for precise reference on
these mentioned POIs. Note that such maps are continuously updated as
more content is discovered.
3. Ornithopter Part Mass Production (Selling to Players via Exchange)
This method allows players to farm Solaris in absurd quantities by capitalizing on the in-game player economy.
- Strategy: Craft a full Ornithopter set (all required parts to build one) and sell it on the Exchange (Auction House) at social hubs like Arrakeen or Harko Village.
- Required Materials for a Full Ornithopter:
- Water: x57,000 ml
- Aluminum: x241 Ingots (equivalent to x1,800 Ores)
- Cobalt Paste: x82 (requires Erythrite Crystal x250)
- Advanced Servoks: x46
- Particle Capacitors: x22
- Diamondine Dust: x14
- Industrial Pumps: x8
- Complex Machinery: x8
- Carbide Scraps: x7
- Resource Acquisition: If you've been diligently following the Schematic Farming route (Method 2), you will likely have a surplus of many of these components.
However, you will still need to actively farm Aluminum and Erythrite for the Ingots and Cobalt Paste. These can be easily obtained between
Pinnacle Station and Hagga Rift by farming the CHOAM Mining Stations spread across the rift and the rock pillars, which are often rich in materials like Aluminum and Carbon.
- Pricing: Once you have enough materials to build a complete Ornithopter set (4x
Wings, 1x Chassis, 1x Cockpit, 1x Engine, 1x Generator, and 1x Hull),
you can sell it for approximately 1,000,000 Solaris if the market demand is high, or around 500,000 Solaris if demand is lower. This is an extremely lucrative late-game farming strategy.
