The Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake's Rainbow Drop: How to Produce It
In the Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake, the Rainbow Drop can only be crafted with the Sunstone, Sacred Amulet, and Staff of Rain. With the Rainbow Drop, a combination of these items, you'll gain access to the peninsula that houses the path leading to Zoma's Citadel. You'll use the equipment in this area, unlock an achievement, and move forward into the final dungeon of the main game.
The Sacred Amulet is rather easy to get. First get the Faerie Flute in Kol by searching for the glittery thingy next to the baths. Next go up the Tower of Rubiss. Once you defeat Soul of Baramos, it's time to use the Faerie Flute on the statue. Do so and sleeping Rubiss will wake up and give you the Amulet.
The Sunstone, however, is available quasi-immediately upon landing in Alefgard: From the talk with the king, head right into the kitchen of the castle, then go upstairs to the second story. Open the chest nearby to get the Sunstone. You can now use this item to complete the Rainbow Drop in Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake.
Two shrines located within Alefgard have places marked on the map that are indicated with a at the bottom. These two locations are the next stops in your tour. Located at the bottom right corner of the shrine is the Sanctum, where you will merge the Sunstone with the Staff of Rain to create the Rainbow Drop. Its western neighbor is the Holy Spirit Temple. Here you can obtain the Staff of Rain after a small talk with the Spirit of Rubiss.
