In order to obtain this new exotic weapon you will have to complete the Exodus: Preparation mission line, and then the Exodus: Evacuation mission series.

Preparation takes you to IO, Titan, Mercury and finally to Mars to prepare the leaders for the incoming onslaught of Darkness and the unknown threat they all face.

At one point in the process Zavala will make you return to those planets to prepare and evacuate the world and to move forward.
