In this guide entry we explain everything you need to know about How to Craft Celestial Medicines in Black Myth Wukong.
If you really wish to unleash the true potential of the Celestial Medicines in Black Myth: Wukong, hunt the Mind Cores. These mysterious items will be essential ingredients in concocting such potent elixirs. If one is not sure what to do after acquiring them, do not worry. We will break down a step-by-step procedure for harnessing the full potential of the Celestial Medicines to triumph where it matters.
How to Make Celestial Medicines in Black Myth Wukong?
You need to head into Chapter 2 to begin your journey in crafting Celestial Medicines, as suggested by your inventory. Inside, you'll find a wide number of unique NPCs—one of the most notable being a wolf NPC, sitting in the cave area of the Village. Interact with the wolf NPC and proceed down to the water element. There will be a powerful yellow frog boss. Beat this boss for the recipe rewarding you for the foundation of your crafting.
Show the cooked recipe to the wolf man, and he'll express an urgent need to find a brazier before disappearing. It turns out this mysterious brazier is just hiding underneath that impressive-looking Crouching Tiger Temple. If you've played through the main storyline, you'll end up visiting this temple eventually anyway. By the time you finish the village and temple parts of the main storyline, you'll be in the more well-populated area known as Windrest.
You'll continue through the game, defeating different challenges and winning over strong bosses, until you finally land on a vast desert sandpit. In the middle of this arid expanse lies one very fearsome boss—the Stone Vanguard. His final defeat will give you an item called Sterness of Stone.
Sterness of Stone can serve either to open the large gate in the village where you have fought the climactic battle against the main boss or for the pedestal located right at the very top of the Crouching Tiger Temple. Since this item can be used at both locations, you are free to choose whichever one you prefer.
When you obtain the Sterness of Stone, an entirely new area will become accessible to you. From either entrance, it is accessible from the very base of the temple. At the very back of the cave sitting at the bottom of the temple, you will find a brazier you have been looking for. Light the brazier to make the world from behind a barrel reveal itself.
Now you can finally approach the wolf NPC, which will turn into a medicine creator crafter. This particular crafter is going to allow you to create the desperately needed Celestial Medicines from Mind Cores, obtained through the defeat of bosses or in quests. Mind Cores are obtained differently in number per upgrade for upgrading that you want to do.
These celestial medicines act like some number of attribute points in other Souls-likes and can be crafted with a relatively rare resource called Mind Cores.
The main ways of earning Mind Cores include defeating hard bosses. Most of the really tough fights will grant the player a high number of cores for winning. There are also some quests, most of them involving helping NPCs, solving puzzles, or pulling off some daredevil mission that can be completed to gain Mind Cores as the reward.
Another way to obtain Mind Cores would be through the progression of the game's chapters. The story will always have some checkpoints or milestones that may yield a required reward as it progresses. Quite often, they are incentives meant to entice one to get deeper into the gameworld and press on deeper in their story.
Celestial Medicines are extremely strong elixirs with multiple benefits to the cultivator. Those medicines could increase health points, maximum mana, maximum stamina, defense, elemental resistances, and so on. The following are some of the most popular Celestial Medicines:
- A Jade Lotus Pill increases HP by 15.
- Taiyi Pill increases max mana by 10.
- Nonary Pill increases max stamina by 10.
- No-Mind Medicament increases Defense by 5.
- Iron Bull Pill increases the Stamina Recovery Rate by 3.
- Yang Supplementing Pill: Resist Cold +2
- Water Jade Pill: Resist Burn +2
- Bloom Seed Decoction: Resist Poison +2
- Wujin Pill: Resist Shock +2
The above-mentioned Celestial Medicine requires a different amount of Mind Cores for making. Mind Cores are resources with very high value, obtained by killing influential enemies or finishing the highest level of difficult quests and so forth.
Upgrading your Health and Mana with your Mind Cores is a strategic decision that will help improve gameplay. Health is one of the cornerstones for survival, helping you take more damage. Together with drinks and soaks, this synergizes to further their health-restorative abilities.Mana serves as the fuel for your spellcasting abilities. Upgrading Mana will afford you more spell casts that then open up more tactical opportunities.
Knowing the exact spell list at a shrine, go through it carefully to know the Mana cost of your favorite spells. Afterwards, calculate how many upgrades it would take to unlock an additional cast. For some genuinely powerful spellcasting, you should also aim to get the Mana restore perks from relic upgrades or craftable gear. This helps a lot in making your spellcasting efficient and generally performing well.
