How to Start "Inside Help"

  • Complete "The Bad Brother" (first quest in the chain).
  • Meet Ise Sadatame, who reveals The Fool (Ujimasa) as a Shinbakufu member.

    • Where to Find Ujimasa (The Fool)

    Location:

    • Region: Yamashiro (southwest of Kyoto)
    • Landmark: Kiyomizudera Temple (large compound near southern Kyoto)

    Clues:

    Finding Him:

    • Head east from southern Kyoto—the temple is hard to miss.
    • Ujimasa is near a large fountain in the lower sections, posing as a monk.

    The Fountain Choice (No Wrong Answer)

    When you meet Ujimasa, he offers water from three fountains:


    Does the choice matter?

    • No. Picking any option leads to the same outcome.
    • Canon Choice (Naoe): Success ("for us all to live in peace").

    After drinking, Ujimasa tasks you with "The Twisted Tree" quest.

    Completing "The Twisted Tree"

    Objective:

    Eliminate Inoshichi Takahashi while sparing Goro & Ichi-hime.

    Steps:

    Final Steps to Expose the Yamabushi Imposters

    After completing "The Twisted Tree", return to Ujimasa to progress the "Inside Help" questline.

  • Kill Inoshichi & his hostile children → Goro & Ichi-hime will automatically survive.
