Along their journey, they encounter new allies—Shotei and his daughter Katsuhime—who join the fight against the ruthless warlord Akechi Kagemitsu. However, locating Shotei during the critical "Showdown in Sakamoto" quest can be surprisingly tricky, as he isn’t marked by a named location. If you're struggling to find him without resorting to scouts or guided mode, this guide will lead you straight to him.

How to Start the "Showdown in Sakamoto" Quest


The "Showdown in Sakamoto" quest is the final mission in the Naginata of the Shinbakufu storyline, culminating in the assassination of Akechi Kagemitsu. Before you can begin this mission, you must first complete two prerequisite quests:
  • "An Evening in Otsu"
  • "Against the Koga-ryu"

    • On a hill overlooking Sakamoto, you’ll see a small wooden structure (pictured below).
    • This is the unmarked tower where Shotei is waiting.
