How to start Fire and Gemstone quest in WoW The War Within

Once you've reached the maximum level, the so-called cap, in The War Within, that's when you can start your Fire and Gemstone quest. You should have finished all four zones of Khaz Algar's leveling campaign by now. You can complete both tasks simultaneously, so neither should be particularly difficult to you.

Once that is taken care of, the next requirement you must complete in order to begin the Fire and Gemstone quest is:

Get the faction renown of the Arathi Hallowfall to 11, along with the completion of the Those Who Fell quest.

Finishing the level-up campaign with the Arathi Hallowfall faction is supposed to give you a pretty big boost of reputation, so reaching rank 11 shouldn't be too much trouble. This will then unlock the Spreading the Light event, Elite Rare monsters, and just a deluge of Hallowfall global missions.

You'll get the Those Who Fell quest from the NPC Keyrra Flamestonge upon attaining Renown level 11. You'll find her at Light's Blooming at coordinates 65.5, 32.2. This is the same NPC that gives you Defender of the Flame, which is a weekly global quest for the Spreading the Light event.

Those Who Fell must collect three Tinderboxes in the zone altogether. The event Spreading the Light would be perfect to get by in a breeze since there are plenty of defeated enemies and Elites dropping those Tinderboxes. Fire and Gemstone quest-visit NPC Speaker Kuldas in Gurndagaz at 47.5, 32.0 in The Ringing Deeps zone.

Fire and Gemstone Quest Walkthrough

Upon accepting the Fire and Gemstone quest from Speaker Kuldas, seek out and collect Awakened Cog and Ringing Gemstone. By far, the quickest and most straightforward method of acquiring both aforementioned artifacts is by completing the weekly quest "Awakening the Machine," which is also provided to you by Speaker Kuldas.

While Speaker Kuldas is in his time communing with the machine, you are faced with 20 waves of opponents. That sounds daunting, but you do get a break every five waves. Both these items can be yours to keep over those 20 waves, as they drop off of your enemies. If you do not have any drops within the first twenty waves, that is okay because you can do this quest as many times as you want.

All you have to do is exit of the area Awakening the Machine with both items in your inventory and then turn the quest in to Speaker Kuldas. That's it.
