• Friend Support Cards: The most significant advantage of having "friends" (mutual followers) or even just following other players is the ability to use their Support Cards during your Umamusume training runs.
  • When you begin a training session (a "Career Mode" run), you select a trainee Umamusume, two legacy Umamusume for inspiration, and six support cards. One of these six support card slots can be filled by a "Guest Legacy" or "Friend Support Card" borrowed from another player you follow.
  • These borrowed Support Cards provide the same powerful support effects as your own, offering additional stat bonuses, triggering unique in-game events, and unlocking new skills for your trainee.
  • Using high-level, "Max Limit Break" (MLB) Support Cards from friends can drastically improve your trainee's stat gains and overall performance, especially early in the game when your own Support Card collection might be limited.
• Friend Points: By having your Umamusume or Support Cards used by other players (as a friend support or legacy partner), you can receive Friend Points. These points are a valuable in-game currency that can be exchanged in the Friend Point Shop for various items, including:
  • Umamusume Statues: Which can be converted into Star Pieces, crucial for increasing the "Star Level" of your Umamusume.
  • Skill Books/Hint Books: To teach your Umamusume new skills or reduce the cost of learning existing ones.
  • Trainer Medals: Another currency used in the Trainer Medal Shop.
  • Support Card Limit Break Items: Though less common, some powerful items can occasionally appear.
  • For example, the game's wiki often notes that the SSR Haru Urara (Guts) card is sometimes available in the Friend Point Shop, making these points highly sought after.
• Visibility and Community: Your profile, including your chosen personal comment and the Umamusume/Support Card you've set as your "leader," is visible to other players in various contexts:
  • During Team Stadium Battles and Team Trials.
  • When they select your Support Card to use in their training runs.

How To Follow Friends

The process for following other trainers in Umamusume: Pretty Derby is straightforward:

From the Main Screen, Click 'Menu': On your game's home screen, locate and tap the 'Menu' button, typically found in the top-right corner.

Select the 'Friends' Tab: Within the 'Menu' options, find and click on the 'Friends' tab.

Use 'ID Search': At the bottom of the 'Friends' screen, you will see an 'ID Search' button. Tap this.

Enter Trainer ID: You will be prompted to enter your friend's 'Trainer ID.' This is a unique numerical ID assigned to each player. You can also see your own Trainer ID on this screen, which you can share with friendswho wish to follow you.

Search and Follow: Type in your friend's Trainer ID and click 'Search.'

The game will display the corresponding player profile. Select this profile and then click the 'Follow' button to add them to your following list.

Important Note: To establish a "mutual follow" and gain all the benefits (like earningmore Friend Points when they use your support), your friend will need to follow you back using the same steps. You can also discover new players to follow by checking the 'Recommended' tab within the 'Friends' menu, which suggests random players. Simply click on their profile and then follow them.
