How To Improve Your Ultimate

There are two primary methods to enhance your character's ultimate skill: a permanent method tied to character rarity and a temporary method based on fan count during a career run.1. Permanent Ultimate Skill Upgrades (Character Star Rarity): The base level and version of your ultimate skill are determined by your character's star rarity, which can be permanently increased by obtaining duplicates of the character or using Goddess Statues.

• 1-Star Character: When you first acquire a 1-star character, their unique skill (Ultimate) is at Level 1. This unique skill can reach a maximum of Level 4 in a single career run if all temporary conditions (fan count) are met.
• 2-Star Character: Upon upgrading a character to 2 stars, their unique skill automatically starts at Level 2. This version can reach a maximum of Level 5 in a single career run.
• 3-Star Character: When a character reaches 3 stars, their unique skill transforms into a stronger version with a different name and often a new animation. This "new" ultimate skill resets to Level 1. This is considered the "true" ultimate of the character.
• 4-Star Character: Upgrading a character to 4 stars causes this stronger ultimate to start at Level 2.
• 5-Star Character: Reaching 5 stars (the maximum rarity) causes this stronger ultimate to start at Level 3. This allows the ultimate to reach its maximum potential of Level 6 during a successful career run if all temporary conditions are also met.

In essence, upgrading a character's star rarity permanently boosts the starting level and potential maximum level of their unique ultimate skill.2. Temporary Ultimate Skill Upgrades (Fan Count in Senior Year): During a single career run, you can temporarily increase your ultimate skill's level by achieving specific fan count milestones in your horse girl's Senior Year (Year 3). These upgrades occur through special in-game events.

• February (Year 3): Reach 60,000 fans by early February to trigger an ultimate skill upgrade. (Note: Some specific characters, like Haru Urara and Smart Falcon, may have lower requirements, e.g., 40,000 fans).
• April (Year 3): Reach 70,000 fans by early April to trigger another ultimate skill upgrade. (Some characters might have slightly different fan requirements, and your bond with the President (Akikawa) also needs to be at least "green" or 60% for this trigger).
• October (Year 3): Reach 120,000 fans by late October to trigger the final temporary ultimate skill upgrade in that career run. (Again, some characters might have a lower threshold, e.g., 80,000 fans).

Successfully meeting all these fan requirements in a career run will grant you the maximum possible ultimate skill level for your horse girl's current star rarity.

How To Use Your Ultimate

Like all skills in Umamusume: Pretty Derby, ultimate skills cannot be manually activated during a race. They trigger automatically whenspecific in-race conditions are met.

• Trigger Chance: The chance of your ultimate (and other skills) activating at the optimal moment is heavily influenced by your horse girl's Wit (Wisdom) stat.
• Wit for Career Mode: For typical career mode runs, aiming for approximately 300-400 Wit is generally sufficient to achieve a high probability of your skillsand ultimate triggering effectively when conditions are met (around 78%activation chance at 300 Wit).
• Wit for PvP: In PvP (Team Stadium or Room Matches), where you compete against highlyoptimized characters, a significantly higher Wit stat is recommended.Players often aim for 700+ Wit to maximize skill activationchances (around 90% at 700 Wit) and improve overall race positioning and stamina preservation. While 100% activation isn't possible, higher Witgreatly increases reliability.

By understanding andleveraging both permanent star upgrades and temporary fan-basedprogression, alongside strategic Wit training, players can unlock andeffectively utilize their horse girls' powerful ultimate skills foroptimal race performance.
