In The King Is Watching, strategic kingdom management involves not just constructing new buildings but also intelligently updating your existing layout. This often means removing older or less efficient structures to make space for more advanced facilities that support better troop deployment and unit performance. While seemingly straightforward, the process of removing buildings can be a bit unintuitive for new players.
The King Is Watching: How To Remove Buildings
There is no dedicated hotkey for demolishing buildings. Instead, the function is accessed through the game's user interface.
Steps to Remove a Building:Locate the Demolish Icon: Look for a house icon with a minus ("-") sign within your in-game interface. This icon typically signifies the demolish or delete function.Activate Demolish Mode: Click on this icon to enter "delete mode."Select Building to Demolish: With delete mode active, click on the specific building you wish to remove from your kingdom.Disable Delete Mode: Once you have demolished the desired building(s), it is crucial to right-click anywhere outside your immediate vision area (e.g., on the empty terrain or background) to disable delete mode.Important Warning: Buildings removed in this manner are
permanently gone. You cannot recover them, and if you wish to use them again, you will need to rebuild them from scratch, incurring the associated costs.
Why Remove Buildings?
Donate: buy me a coffeeThere are several strategic reasons why you might need to remove buildings in The King Is Watching:
- Freeing Up Space for Better Structures: As your kingdom progresses, you'll unlock more advanced and efficientbuildings. Removing obsolete structures allows you to allocate valuablespace to these upgrades.
- Example: Replacing an "Old Wheat Field" with a more productive "Flour Mill."
- Example: Swapping out a "Militia Camp" for a "Dragon Training" facility to deploy more powerful units.
- Improving Vision and Layout: Sometimes, certain buildings might obstruct your camera's vision orcreate an inconvenient layout. Deleting them can improve your ability to view and navigate your kingdom.
- Reorganizing Your Kingdom: As your kingdom expands, you might find that your initial layout is nolonger optimal. Removing buildings can be a step in a largerreorganization effort.
Considerations Before Demolishing:
- Permanent Removal: Always remember that demolished buildings are gone permanently. Thismeans you will incur the cost of resources and time if you need torebuild them later.
- Rearrange First: Before resorting to demolition, always check if you can simply rearrange or move your existing buildings to free up space or improve your layout. Moving buildings is generally much cheaper than demolishing and rebuilding.
- Strategic Planning: Do not remove buildings immediately without careful consideration. Plan your layout changes in advance to ensure you're making the mostefficient use of your space and resources.
