Where to Find Gold Ore
Gold Ore can be found through a few different methods, but all of them require a bit of luck and perseverance.Mining for Ores
The primary way to find Gold Ore is by mining. Gold Ore nodes are randomly scattered throughout the map, but they spawn most often in the more remote locations of Zephyr Town. These nodes are hard to miss, as they are large, shiny rock formations. To mine them, you must use your Hammer.- Necessary Tool: A basic Hammer can only break regular rocks. To successfully break a Gold Ore node, you will need a higher-tier Hammer, such as a Silver Hammer, which you can obtain by upgrading your tools at the Red Windmill.
- Locations: Gold Ore nodes can appear in any area with rock formations, including the main town, the mountains, and the forest. You will need to travel to each area and search carefully. Note that Gold Ore nodes appear very rarely, so it may take several in-game days for one to spawn.
Buying from the Emp-ore-ium Shop
For players who prefer to save time, you can also purchase Gold Ore directly from the Emp-ore-ium shop at the Bazaar.
- How to Unlock the Shop: You must first complete the request from the shop's owner, Lloyd, titled "Ore You Ready to Sell?" This quest requires you to provide him with 3x Copper, 1x Iron, and 1x Gemstone.
- Bazaar Rank Requirement: The Emp-ore-ium shop will not sell Gold Ore until you have reached Bazaar Rank 4. Once you do, Gold Ore will be available for purchase at a price of 2,800 Gold.
Digging for Treasure
A less common but still viable method for finding Gold Ore is by digging. On rare occasions, you may find small mounds of dirt on the ground.Using your Hoe on these mounds has a very small chance of yielding aburied treasure, which can sometimes be a valuable ore, including Gold.
Uses of Gold Ore
Once you've acquired a stash of Gold Ore, you can use it in a number of valuable ways.
Tool Upgrades
Gold Ore is a key component for upgrading your tools to their highest tiers. All tool upgrades are performed at the Red Windmill on your farm.
- Golden Tools: To create a Golden tool (e.g., Golden Hammer, Golden Watering Can), you will need 1x Mithril and 5x Gold Ore.
- Golden Tools +: To create a Golden+ tool, you will need 5x Orichalcum and 1x Gold Ore.
Crafting Recipes
Gold Ore can be processed at your windmills to create various artisan goodsthat are either used in other recipes or sold for a high price. You will unlock a variety of jewelry recipes, including the Purple Bracelet and Green Bracelet, that require Gold Ore and other gems.
Gifting to Villagers
As a rare and beautiful item, Gold Ore makes for a fantastic gift. It is a particularly beloved item for the Nature Sprites. Gifting Gold Ore isone of the fastest ways to increase your relationship with them. Inparticular, both Ivy and Sana have a special affinity for this ore.
Selling for Profit
If you have a surplus of Gold Ore, you can sell it to customers at theBazaar on Saturdays. The base price of Gold Ore is high, and with enough wind on your bazaar day, it can sell for a significant amount of gold,which can be a huge boost to your early-game finances.
