In Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar, a successful farm is built on daily dedication, and no tool is more central to that routine than the watering can. It's one of the first items you receive in the game, and its consistent use is essential for growing healthy, profitable crops. While the basic watering can gets the job done at first, upgrading it is crucial for maximizing your efficiency and saving precious time and stamina.This guide will walk you through the uses of the watering can and provide a detailed, step-by-step process for upgrading it to its final form.How to Use a Watering Can
On your second day in the game, the mayor, Felix, will give you your first watering can, along with a hoe and a bag of Turnip seeds. Before you can water your crops, you must first fill the can.- Filling the Can: To fill your watering can, simply approach any water source, such as the well located on your farm. Stand next to the well and press the designated button to automatically fill the can.
- Watering Crops: Once the can is full, equip it from your tool menu and stand in front of a tilled patch of soil. Press the button to use the tool, and your character will water a single tile of soil.
Upgrading the Watering Can
Unlike other entries in the Story of Seasons series, tools in Grand Bazaar are upgraded at the Red Windmill on your farm. Upgrades require a specific set of ores and materials, which you can find by mining and foraging around Zephyr Town. Each upgrade increases your watering can's efficiency and allows it to affect a larger area.

Tips for Upgrading
- Mine for Ores: Copper and Iron can be found by breaking rocks near the mines and around the map. Later-tier ores like Silver, Gold, Mithril, and Orichalcum can be found more consistently as you gain access to more advanced mining spots.
- Plan Ahead: Upgrading a tool takes a full in-game day to complete. Plan your farming schedule around the upgrade so you are not left without a watering can when your crops need it most.
- Prioritize: The watering can is one of the most important tools to upgrade.8 The ability to water a larger area and reduce stamina consumption will save you an incredible amount of time and energy, allowing you to focus on other activities like foraging, fishing, and socializing with villagers.
