After nearly 15 years, the legendary
Skate franchise has made its grand return, bringing its unique blend of realistic physics and creative freedom to a new generation. While the game is currently in a soft launch, it has already captured the hearts of fans by re-embracing the core culture of skateboarding. In this new installment, you're not limited to just real-world tricks; you can pull off wild, gravity-defying maneuvers alongside classic, iconic stunts. One of the most recognizable and stylish tricks in the game is the
Christ Air. It's a staple for completing daily challenges and progressing through the game's story, but it’s also an incredible move to show off to your friends. Whether you're trying to stack up Rip Coins, level up your neighborhood reputation, or simply unlock new areas, the Christ Air is a must-have trick in your repertoire. This guide will walk you through how to pull it off, with a few extra tips to help you master it.
How to Perform the Christ Air
The Christ Air is a classic "no-foot grab" trick that must beperformed in mid-air. Unlike on-board maneuvers, you'll need to catchsome serious air off a high platform or ramp to execute it smoothly. Ifyou try to perform this trick while on the ground, your character willsimply do a Foot Plant instead.
When executed correctly, yourcharacter will grab the board, straighten their arms and legs, creating a classic crucifix-like pose before landing back on the board with style.
To perform a Christ Air, you'll need to use a specific button combination. The controls are:
- On Xbox: Press R2 + B
- On PlayStation: Press L2 + Circle
It’s crucial to remember that your controls can change depending on your chosen stance—either Regular or Goofy. You can check and change your stance in the settings menu by navigating to Gameplay > Controls. For example, while the input R2 + B works in Goofy stance, you'll need to use L2 + B in Regular stance.
Tips for Landing the Trick
Practice is key to mastering any trick, and the Christ Air is no exception. A great place to practice is The P-Hus in Gullcrest Village, which has plenty of ramps and vert surfaces to give you the air you need.
To truly make this trick your own, you can combine it with othermaneuvers. For a flashy landing that prevents you from crashing, trymixing the Christ Air with an In Air Tuck or various flips. This adds another layer of style and helps you land with a clean score.
For a full list of tricks and their controls, remember to check out the Skatepedia from the side menu. You'll find everything from the classic Coffin trick (which you can do while riding) to the essential pumping technique for a speed boost.
With a little practice, the Christ Air will become a go-to trick in yourarsenal, allowing you to not only complete challenges but also trulyexpress yourself on the digital pavement. Now get out there and startflying!
