REMATCH, Sloclap’s highly anticipated 5v5 action football game, has just launched, offering a unique blend of strategic gameplay and competitive action. While the game delivers a fresh perspective on the genre, like many new titles, it's not without its bugs and issues. A common frustration for many players has been a configuration saving issue, preventing settings from being properly saved. Fortunately, there are several tested workarounds that have helped numerous players resolve this problem.
Fix Rematch Settings Not Saving Issue
If you're encountering problems with your settings not saving in REMATCH, try the following workarounds, starting with the simpler solutions:
Restart the Game and Play a Few Matches
- Description: Sometimes, game settings may require a full restart to register correctly. Additionally, the saving process might be delayed, meaning settings only commit after some active gameplay.
- Action: Close REMATCH completely, then relaunch it. After changing your desired settings, play a few matches to give the game time to properly save them.
Verify Game Files
- Description: Corrupted or missing local game files can cause a variety of strange bugs, including issues with saving settings. Verifying the integrity of your game files through Steam is a good general troubleshooting step.
- Action (via Steam):
- Open your Steam client.
- Go to your Library.
- Right-click on REMATCH.
- Select "Properties."
- Navigate to the "Installed Files" tab.
- Click on "Verify integrity of game files."
- After the scan is complete and any necessary files are re-downloaded or repaired, launch the game again.
Run the Game as Administrator
- Description: Insufficient permissions can sometimes prevent a game from writing to
its configuration files, leading to settings not being saved. Running
the game with administrator privileges can bypass these
permission-related issues.
- Action:
- Navigate to your REMATCH installation folder. The easiest way to do this is via Steam: Go to your Steam Library, right-click on REMATCH, select "Manage," and then click "Browse local files."
- Locate the main executable file for REMATCH (it will typically be named Rematch.exe).
- Right-click on Rematch.exe and select "Run as administrator."
- Now, launch the game and check if your settings are being saved correctly.
Still No Fix? (Delete "Runtime" Folder)
- Description: If the basic checks above don't resolve the issue, a Steam user named
Galed shared a solution that has successfully fixed the problem for
others. This method involves deleting a specific folder that might
contain old beta data conflicting with the current game version.
- Action:
- Completely close REMATCH and your Steam client.
- Go to the following directory: C:\Users\[YourUserNameFolder]\AppData\Local.
- Note: The AppData folder is often hidden by default. If you cannot find it, go to your
File Explorer's "View" tab, then "Show," and check "Hidden items."
- Inside the Local folder, look for a folder named "Runtime." This folder is believed to contain conflicting old beta data.
- Delete the entire "Runtime" folder.
- Launch REMATCH, adjust your settings to your preference, and then exit the game normally (do not force close).
- Relaunch the game to see if your settings are now saving correctly. This method
has proven effective for several players facing this particular issue.
