Pokémon Legends: Z-A invites players to explore and reshape the grand, evolving urban landscape of Lumiose City. As you progress through the main story, you'll inevitably descend into the dark, labyrinthine Lumiose Sewers during Main Mission 19. However, once that mission is complete, many players find the previous entrance is sealed off, leaving them wondering how to return to the dungeon that holds unique and valuable Pokémon.Fear not, intrepid explorers! While the initial path may close, a secret, permanent route to the sewers opens up through a specific side mission. This guide will detail exactly where to find the new entrance, how to unlock it, and which rare Pokémon—including exclusives—you can find waiting in the shadows.

Pokemon Legends Z-A: Get Back Into the Sewers

Unlocking the Permanent Sewer Entrance

The key to re-entering the Lumiose Sewers lies not in the main quest, but in accepting a specific side quest that causes a crucial NPC to move, thereby unblocking a hidden gate.

Step 1: Locate the Camerupt Entrepreneur

After concluding the events of Main Mission 19, you need to head to a specific, detailed location in Lumiose City:

  • Navigate to Bleu Sector 3: This area is situated just west of Wild Zone 2 and slightly south of Wild Zone 5.
  • Find the Stairs: Look for a flight of stairs that cuts between two buildings on the east side of Bleu Sector 3.
  • Follow the Path: Climb the stairs, then immediately turn left. Continue following this winding path as it descends into a secluded area.

Step 2: Initiate Side Mission 057

As you follow the descending path, you’ll encounter an obstacle and, nearby, the crucial NPC that starts the side quest.

  • Clear the Goo: You'll likely need to clear some sticky purple goo blocking the way to the NPC. This obstacle is easily dealt with using any strong Water-type attacks.
  • The Mission Giver: Once the path is clear, you can speak to the NPC to initiate Side Mission 057, titled "The Camerupt Entrepreneur."

Step 3: The Unlocked Gate and Fast Travel

Starting "The Camerupt Entrepreneur" is the only requirement to gain permanent access to the sewers.

  • The Unblock: Upon starting the mission, the quest-giver will move away from the gate they were previously blocking.
  • Access Granted: You can now interact with this previously blocked gate to enter the Lumiose Sewers.
  • Permanent Convenience: Crucially, once the NPC moves and you interact with the gate, this entrance registers as a travel spot on your map. This means you can use the game's fast travel feature to return to the Lumiose Sewers at any time, making repeat visits for farming or hunting much easier.

The Denizens of the Deep: Pokémon in the Lumiose Sewers

The primary motivation for returning to the sewers is the diverse andsometimes exclusive roster of Pokémon found within its damp, twistingtunnels. Many of the Pokémon lurking here belong to types that are rareor highly valuable for your team composition.

Here is a list of the Pokémon you can encounter in the Lumiose Sewers:

  • Patarat
  • Gastly
  • Haunter
  • Inkay
  • Skrelp
  • Dragalge
  • Goomy
  • Scraggy
  • Noibat
  • Klefki
  • Litwick

Exclusive Catches and Alpha Hunts

The Lumiose Sewers are not just another hunting ground; they are essentialfor completing your Pokédex due to the presence of two particularspecies: Skrelp and Litwick.

  • Exclusive Spawns: The sewers appear to be the only location where you can find Skrelp and Litwick. If you missed them during Main Mission 19, or if you're a completionist aiming to catch 'em all, revisiting the sewers is mandatory.
  • Alpha Hunting: Players keen on acquiring powerful variants should be prepared to spend a significant amount of time in the sewers. Alpha Skrelp and Alpha Litwick both spawn in this dark environment, offering a great challenge and a powerful addition to your team.

Optimizing Your Sewer Battles

When preparing for your dives into the Lumiose Sewers, remember that many of the resident Pokémon share specific type weaknesses.

  • Common Types: The majority of Pokémon here lean heavily into Dark-type, Dragon-type, and Ghost-type classifications (e.g., Haunter, Inkay, Skrelp, Dragalge, Goomy, Scraggy, Noibat, Litwick).
  • Strategic Advantage: Given this concentration of types, Fairy-type attacks are a strong option for sweeping through the sewers, as they are supereffective against Dark and Dragon types and neutralize the threat ofDragon-type attacks. Ghost and Dark-type moves are also highly effective against the Ghost Pokémon found within.

Be sure to reference the Pokémon Legends: Z-A type chart beforehand toensure you bring a team optimized for success against the unique dangers lurking beneath Lumiose City. With the permanent entrance now open, the secrets and valuable Pokémon of the sewers are yours to claim.
