Before you can measure your bond, you must first unlock the ability to do so. This feature is gated behind a specific side mission, making it a crucial piece of mid-game progress.

Progress Through the Story: You must advance the main narrative until Side Mission 25: "Troublesome Patrons" becomes available.

Locate the Cafe: This quest is found at the Cafe Pokemon-Amie in Magenta Sector Four, located in the northwest part of Lumiose City.

Complete the Quest: Speak to the quest giver and agree to help with their Trubbish problem. Your task is to simply escort the Trubbish to a nearby alley.
