Once you have established yourself as a champion of the region, you canunlock the content via an online connection. The quest to find Mewtwo is tied to a specific Side Mission dubbed Project M.
Step-by-Step Activation:
- Open the Menu: Press the X button to bring up the main menu interface.
- Navigate to Link Play: Scroll down through the menu options until you locate and select Link Play.
- Access Mystery Gift: Within the Link Play sub-menu, choose the Mystery Gift option.
- Connect Online: Select Get Via Internet to connect to the game servers.
- Select Project M: You will see an option for Project M. Select it to officially register the side mission in your quest log.

- Descend to the Depths: Once inside the Labs, look for the distinctive red elevator doors situated directly in front of you. Step into the elevator and select the destination floor: B3F (Basement Level 3).
