Where to Find Larvitar in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Larvitar isn't roaming the streets; it requires a bit of clever climbing and parkour to reach its hidden spawn point.
1. Target the Vert Sector 2 Rooftops
- Location: Head to Vert Sector 2, which is located right next to Wild Zone 2.
- Initial Access: Look for a ladder tucked away on the north side of the main courtyard. This is your key access point to the rooftops.
- Ascend: Climb the ladder to reach the initial rooftop area.
2. Mastering the Rooftop Parkour
Once on the roof, you'll need to navigate the elevated landscape.
- Follow the Path: Once on the rooftops, begin moving in a counter-clockwise direction.
- The Big Gap: Your progress will be halted by a sizable gap that splits the rooftops in two. This is where your traversal skills are tested.
- The Jump Strategy: To clear the divide, locate the pile of boxes stacked near the edge of the roof. Climb to the top of these boxes. From this elevated position, you need to execute a perfect running start and roll to launch yourself across and land safely on the next roof.
- Final Approach: Once across the gap, continue navigating the rooftops until you reach the southernmost section. This secluded area is where you will find a lone Larvitar patiently waiting.
How to Catch Larvitar Successfully
As any veteran Tyranitar user knows, catching the Larvitar stage is noteasy. The Rock Skin Pokémon is fiercely resistant to capture, demandingyou bring your best Poké Balls and a well-prepared battle strategy.
1. Prioritize High-Quality Poké Balls
Larvitar has a notoriously low catch rate. Do not waste your basic Poké Balls.
- Use the Best: Maximize your odds by throwing your Great Balls or Ultra Balls the moment you have an opportunity. The higher the quality of the ball, the better your chances of a successful capture.
2. Employ Stealth for the First Throw
Since Larvitar is stationary, you have a perfect chance to utilize the game’s stealth mechanic for a surprise throw.
- Utilize Cover: There should be a smokestack or similar structure on the rooftop that provides you with cover. Use this to sneak up on the Larvitar, keeping out of its line of sight.
