Reaching "Forever Friends" Status: Your Key to Remote Trading

The gateway to remote trading is achieving the new pinnacle of friendship: Forever Friends. This elite tier surpasses Best Friends and comes with significant new benefits:

• Your First Remote Trade: Upon reaching Forever Friends status, you and your friend instantly receive one Remote Trade charge to use with each other.
• Earning More Trade Charges: Continue interacting daily through gifts, raids, or Party Play to earn Friendship Points. These points fill a progress bar that grants rewards, including XP and additional Remote Trade charges.
• Important Charge Management: You can only hold one available Remote Trade charge per Forever Friend at a time. You must use your current charge before earning more Friendship Points, as excess points will not accumulate toward a new charge until the existing one is spent.
• Maximizing Friendship Points: While standard interactions grant one point per day, Weekly Challenges offer a major boost. Team up with up to three friends from your list to complete weekly objectives, earning bonus XP and extra Friendship Points to accelerate charge recovery.

How to Initiate a Remote Trade: A Step-by-Step Process

Once you have a Remote Trade charge available, follow this new system to execute a trade:

Tag Your Pokémon: Designate Pokémon for potential trade by applying a special Remote Trade Tag. All your Forever Friends will be able to see your tagged Pokémon.

Browse and Wishlist: View your friends’ tagged Pokémon lists. Select up to three Pokémon you desire to create a “Wishlist” and send it to your friend.

Receive and Reciprocate: Your friend will receive your Wishlist and, in turn, select threetagged Pokémon from your collection that they are interested in.

Finalize the Trade: The system presents the proposed swap. Both trainers must review andconfirm to complete the trade. Either party can cancel at any pointbefore final confirmation.

Critical Restrictions: Pokémon That Cannot Be Traded Remotely

Not all Pokémon are eligible for this new system. Be aware of the following banned categories that cannot be tagged or traded remotely:

• Recently caught Pokémon (last 30 days)
• Previously traded Pokémon
• Shadow or Mythical Pokémon
• Pokémon defending Gyms or Power Spots
• Your current Buddy Pokémon
• Actively Mega-Evolved Pokémon
• Fused Pokémon (e.g., Kyurem forms)
• Crowned Sword Zacian & Crowned Shield Zamazenta
• Pokémon placed in Pokémon Playgrounds

Pro Tips & Special Events

• Lucky Trade Activation: If you and your Forever Friend have achieved Lucky Friend status, your next Remote Trade with them will automatically become a Lucky Trade. This status is consumed upon trade completion.
• Limited-Time Event: To celebrate the launch, a special Timed Research event will run from Monday, December 15, 2024, at 10:00 AM to Monday, December 29, 2025, at 8:00 PM (local time). Participate to earn exclusive rewards.
