No Man’s Sky: How to get the Drone Companion - Ultimate Guide

The first thing you have to do is activate the quest A Trace of Metal. You may have to establish a working settlement and when you reach an agreement, you will have to accept the position of Overseer and finish the construction of the Overseer's Office. Interact with the building's Settlement Management Terminal to complete the required construction missions.After this, you will need to go to your Starship, where you will have to complete five warp drives > after that you will be able to access an emergency satellite communications broadcast from an NPC in the Settlement, telling you that the Sentinels are attacking the base and when this happens the mission "Trace Of Metal" will be activated.
Head to your Settlement and take out all the attacking Sentinels. You will need to go to the Settlement Management Terminal and interact with Iteration Tethys, who will tell you to get the dropped Sentinel Pods.
In one of the pods there will be an undamaged drone casing, there might even be a Sentinel Hardframe motor, for the last part of this mission. After that, you will have to return to space, where you will have to summon the Anomaly.
In the Anomaly, you will need to interact with Tethys, who will help you find the parts of three other Anomaly NPCs, with which you can repair the Sentinel Drone. Interact with Iteration Mercury to pick up a Portal Phylactery, then talk to Iteration Ariadne and then Iteration Mercury to get Nanite Filament.
After that, talk to Hesperus, he will tell you to find Specialist Polo. Polo will give you some accounts and when you get them you must deliver them to Tethys. This will allow you to get your Sentinel Flare.
