Nightmare Kart has native support for Xbox controllers, but if you want to play with a PlayStation controller like Dual Shock 4 or Dualsense, you must enable Steam Input. Follow the steps below to ensure Steam Input is active for Nightmare Kart.

Go to Steam and browse your library.
Right click on Nightmare Kart and then click "Properties."
Here, under the Controller tab, make sure the Enable Steam Input drop-down menu is selected.

All you have to do is that. You can completely disable Steam input on Xbox controllers.
